prdarling
Hope someone can help. Am desperate for ideas for my 4 year old son's birthday party. I wanted to use the function room at The Herne but it's fully booked. Anyone had/been to any cool kid's parties? Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10136-4-year-old-birthday-party-advice-please/ Share on other sites
Gubodge
It's nothing special but my daughters are still keen on going to parties at the Harris Academy, even though they've been to loads there already. You get the use of a bouncy castle for an hour. Or Peckham softplay? mrs cuckoo
Last year we had my sons party at the Marsden Road Wildlife Centre. I think that they only do them on a Sunday afternoon, but for about ?60 you can hire the whole building to play games in and have tea. We did a treasure hunt around the garden (that bit is open to the public) and looked at frogs and things in the pond. It's really charming and the staff are around to tell the kids all about it. candj
We've used St. Thomas More hall for a party, but it's a very big and vacuous space if you don't have a lot of people. Also had a party upstairs at The Mag which worked very well as you can bring your own food and the owner, Steve, is very helpful and of course, the bar is just downstairs. We had a few entertainers as well in both places. We've been to ones at Peckham and Beckenham softplay, Gambados and they were perfectly fine, if only just a little manic because you have other children around. What a great idea to have it at the Marsden Road Wildlife Centre - would be perfect for a summer or warmish weather birthday. Is a March birthday and can't risk outdoors and soft play places don't serve drinks :) Love the Marsden Rd idea, will definitely book for my other son's birthday in SeptemberHmm, now for an entertainer.... piennie1970
Just wondering how much it would be to hire the Mag? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10136-4-year-old-birthday-party-advice-please/#findComment-300519 Share on other sites
tallgirl
For others looking at this thread, we had a couple of great parties at Surrey Dock's Farm (there is a function room there). You can hire donkeys for rides too. lorraineliyanage
The Mag was ?50 to hire last October, that's a shame they're put their prices up but I guess it's a popular venue.
