Nice to see them through, thought they did a great job. We popped into the LL branch the other day, and they were selling the lemon meringues that they made in their heat... very tasty they were too.


Not sure if that Christophe guy is the owner... but hearing a successful business with branches in East Dulwich and Blackheath criticise "capitalism" was amusingly ironic.

Debatable - and in the case of BJ, clearly untrue.


It's probably just a misunderstanding of the word "capitalism", I imagine the point they were making is that there's too much greed and inequality in the world - which is of course, hard to argue with.

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa.     • It's firework season now up until early Jan 2026. Starting with celebrating the failure of terrorist Guy Fawkes on November 5th! BOOM!
    • Get used to it! 'major incidents' are a regular occurrence these days! some ignored by mainstream media.
