Ko
hi. i have to use gaviscon infant for reflux, but sometimes it clogs up the teat - this is even though i don't heat the milk up too much (only to room temp, not hot).last night poor baby sucked for ages until i realised that it was a bit clogged up, so milk was coming out slower than normal. gave a new bottle but then he was too tired to take the rest of the milk!!any tips much appreciated xxx many thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10433-how-to-stop-teat-clogging-up-with-gaviscon/ Share on other sites
buggie
Would it be worth mixing the gaviscon with a bit of milk and giving it via a syringe before the feed (as is done if br/feeding and needs gaviscon).Should be able to get a few syringes from chemist. Belle
we never had this problem but never heated bottles at all and moved onto faster flow teats quite quickly - might be worth trying these if your baby is comfortable with them, as i guess that might be a factor? Also we used the ready-made formula (lazy I know) so never had the frothy bottle thing! sledge
You can also buy some teats especially designed for thicker formulas - they stock them in Lloyds pharmacy.
