Ruskin Park & Sydenham Wells are lovely, but it would be so much better to have one we could walk to. One of 'our own'

Yeah, get your own bloody park, and leave Wells Park for us Sydenham dwellers! ;-)

In all seriousness, I think Wells Park is a beautiful place. Not particularly big, but lovely. The water play thing is popular (not least with me, when Mrs Keef's nephew is around, and I can get away with it), but sometimes it will not be on, which is rather annoying!

Can't remember the name of the road either, but know they do have restrictions between 12-2pm (to stop Kings staff parking there for the day).

Not great. My son's a keen cricketer and is a member of Dulwich Cricket Club. Also spends a lot of time at ' the nets ' in Dulwich Park in the summer. Also there's a sort of drop in football activity on Peckham Rye ( near where the new school's being built) on Saturday and Sunday afternoon which seems to be well supervised.

There are also the Stagecoach activities, music, dance and drama. Not sure of the closest but possibly at JAGS. Great fun for the right child but not cheap.

My daughter tends to hang out on Northcote Road on a Saturday doing McDonald's and Starbucks.

On a slightly older child level - what is there to do for them in the area? So far the son is doing a lot of sports but what is he going to do when he is 14/15/16? Where do teenagers 'hang out'?

I have no idea what it is they need/want? Any of you any idea what that age group does around here?

Well there's a couple of youth clubs that I know of, both quite popular. One is at St Barnabas, & the other is in the Sea-Scout hut in Greendale, both on a Friday. Also, my neighbour tells me that when they reach year 10/11 then the cool place to hang out is the shed at the bottom of the Alleyns grounds. These are kids from Charter, Alleyns, DC, Jags & Kingsdale apparently - they hang out & do disgusting stuff which as parents it probably better we don't know about!

Mine are 12 & 14, 14 year old (girl) spends a lot of time at friends houses, or in our attic room with her friends - it's a bit like a nomadic tribe. In the summer they tend to hang out in the parks, on a Saturday they might 'do' Bromley, or the South bank or just cruise the shops on Lordship lane & dream.

12yr old (boy), still into Scouts (hooray!), also hangs out at friends houses - mainly in front of screens it must be said.

My girl not at all interested in schlepping over to Clapham to cruise the shops - I don't think it's crossed her mind. Maybe that's to come? For now, Bromley & LL serve all her needs.

Which pool? There are a few in Bromley...

    • Oh give it a break.  We have an MP who makes racist comments, yet our media (and what seems like this Forum) that generally hate Labour (and loved Johnson) are just out looking for the dirt. It's a move on, nothing to see here.  Particularly if she used a letting agency.

    • I don't think a single all-inclusive URL is easily doable.  When you enter a search the system presents the result without any of one's search parameters added to the URL.  So I suggest you go to https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/search.do?action=advanced where you just need to enter the address -- use SE22 8EW -- and the  Date Received start date.  I used 1/1/2025.  The three Tesco applications, all minor things, were all made in May.  The Simple search that I'd done previously had no time limit, and didn't include anything else that might have been from Tesco in the last two years. Incidentally, when I searched on the address 29-35 Lordship Lane it did not pick up the Tesco applications, which were held as 29 - 35 Lordship Lane Grrr!
