  1. I'm a frontline worker in the NHS ( Kings) and have been fortunate to have received my second dose of Pfizer on Friday. First dose slightly sore arm, second dose slightly more sore arm but nothing else at all.
  2. Very sad indeed, not much more to be said. She must have felt her career was over and perhaps it was but awful to end like this. I?m sure in life she had much more to offer.
  3. I used this team that I got from the forum. PJ Carpet Cleaning 07950 808782. Good price and professional will use again.
  4. Very good post but nothing new from my experience.
  5. Agreed Penny is great, kind and knowledgable. The GP?s are too but not so easy to book appointments in advance.
  6. We are looking to buy a strip as a Christmas gift. It says on the site they come out large and should go a size down i.e medium should buy small. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thanks
  7. Thanks for the warning, my Spaniel will eat anything! I always pick up after him but evidently a lot of humans don't pick up after themselves.
  8. I was thinking that Argos coming to ED Sainsbury's was exactly that. M&S do a local pick up as do the Co-Op with Amazon. It's not just saving on delivery but you get to pick up up when it suits you. I think it works very well.
  9. Good news, the old location was rubbish for such a busy store.
  10. I would second Brighton and Hove, not cheap but very good transport links. Also lots of great Victorian housing stock and 'The Lanes' area has a similar feel to Brixton market. Great place!
  11. That?s a great shame The restaurant business is a tough one, I can?t think of a single thing they did wrong.

    Dog's leavings

Indeed, most dog people ( owners) are actually quite responsible around here but you will probably never have a 100% compliance as hundreds of previous threads have shown. I remain a woman rather than dog person if that?s okay?
  13. I don't, but from experience ( admitedly not recently) , classes were progressively smaller year on year as families moved out of London. This may have changed but I suspect year five spaces are a lot more available than Reception. Enquire directly to schools and see what happens. Good luck!
  14. I tried to buy from their web site but they were sold out.
  15. What I don?t understand is how these dilapidated houses are left like this. Who owns them and why wouldn?t you sell at reduced market price which around here wouldn?t be a small amount of money? I?m probably being naive about this but I genuinely don?t understand.
  16. I have raised a son in this area and can relate somewhat to your experience. It's not nice, i'm not sure there are knives pesent but there's enough knife crime around to intimidate as such. Teenage boys are targetted i beleive as i've had no such concerns with my daughter. I'm sorry i don't have any real advice but to say that they will learn from this.
  17. I have used this option a couple of tomes and although the wine isn't great i still considered it a good deal. I also thought the 'two sides for ?12 was a good idea. I wasn't aware of the latest deal which is a shame, but I do find M and S wines overpriced for the quality.
  18. Hi I have just used this site for the first time and am very happy with the care my dog received. We were given regular updates and photos of our dog, we used Monique who lives right next to Peckham Rye and I would have no hesitation in using her again.
  19. Yes womanofdulwich, that?s what most of us thought! My daughter went to university in 2012 which was the first year the tuition fees escalated to ?3000 a term. We were fully prepared to support her with cost of living as stated above and she went to Cardiff where living costs are reasonable. We didn?t take out the old fashioned?student loan? because we didn?t want her to graduate with debt but can appreciate a lot of parents can?t. Her student debt is still in excess of ?35,000 and growing at 6% a year. If we were unable to support her financially it would be nearer ?50,000! She?s back in London and enjoying her life and working but gosh, who wants that amount of debt?
  20. When my daughter was at University I gave her ?400 a month to cover all her living costs including travel and clothing and I believe other families had similar arrangements. She also picked up casual work at weekends and during the holidays. Student loan still huge with course fees alone! Hope your child enjoys the experience and good luck with the next stage in their life.
  21. Hove. Get to Brighton and one stop, it is a bit of a walk from the station but have very happy childhood memories of this although we were closer by train. The beach is pebbley but as the tide comes out it turns to sand.
  22. Second for Dog About Town, have used them a few times and my dog comes out looking great!
  23. To the OP I do walk a dog regularly on Goose Green and came across a large dead rat the other day ( near to the gate near the bus stop),it was not a pleasant experience and I certainly hope no children have had the same.
