I really liked The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Think it fits your brief nicely. Can always find a good second hand book at St Christopher's charity shop on Lordship Lane.

I agree malumbu their landings are terrible. Have also used BA a lot recently and would not revert but I must say Ryanair provided many a reasonably priced flight for our family when we flew to Perpignan when our children were still at school , and in fairness they were reliable. I would only use them now if needed the somewhat obscure locations that they fly to. Clearly their customers count for nothing, absolutely nothing.

My daughter uses Vision Direct, no problems so far.

Dr Scorer retires - Forest Hill Clinic
Ann replied to treehugger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
She deserves a wonderful retirement, she looked after my pregnancies 23 and 21 tears ago ! -
Amanda 1979, I have used the one by Sainsbury's recently and think it's fine. The large Cod is worth paying for if you like a good portion of fish and I would say a large portion of chips would feed two people easily.

I'm glad the gym is getting upgraded, the plans look great. Is it me or the poolside lifeguard situation over the top? Minimum two at each session? For an adult swim lane session?

Pool's still open.

Signed although I don't feel hopeful it will change anything. Feels like a bad dream I can't wake up from.

I've used Airnb a few times in France and Spain very successfully in terms of value for money etc. But have never been asked to pay a deposit of any amount.

Lady Norwood, I love your story. Have been fortunate enough to have eaten at The Gavroche and MRJ does delight in meeting his guests. He ran past me two tears ago when I was watching the London Marathon that my sister was running and I respect him for that. Monica I hope will be back for the 'Professionals' version but I'm still enjoying current series.

What are the things you can't live without in your kitchen??
Ann replied to HannahSE23's topic in The Family Room Discussion
A double oven/microwave stack, genuinely didn't think I really needed one but love it. Have a four point 90cm induction hob which is fine for me. Never had a range cooker but happy with my lot! -
Sixth forms - shld this be part of secondary consideration?
Ann replied to Cora's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Cora I'm glad you have raised this issue. I have seen so many threads concerned about secondary school and rightly so. You want your child to be happy and achieve to the best of their ability. Sixth forms do set their own admissions criteria, but generally speaking achieving 5 GCSE's including Maths and English will open up a lot of choice. I agree with Curmudgeon's comments and I'm aware of many students who have changed school for sixth form for a whole host of reasons. Sixth form choice is a dream compared to primary and secondary applications! -
Rachel & the team at Lordship Lane Vets - Thank You
Ann replied to bcam's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Ditto. We lost our lovely Spaniel to mammary cancer at nearly 14 years of age with the Lordship Lane Vets two years ago. She was never stressed throughout her whole treatment and I always felt the team gave her the best possible care. We have registered our new dog with them and he's been made very welcome. -
Brighton and Hove Albion remain unbeaten in the Championship. Seagulls!
