General Election

The election has finally been called for 6th May, and I'm feeling distinctly underwhelmed. It feels a bit like Alien vs Predator............whoever wins, we lose.

I've heard a few people say the same thing and that it's because we have no 'Obama' here. I think they're right. We need somebody with the 'Obama Effect' to lift us out of this malaise. Anyone..?

For the Obama effect to follow you need a Bush to precede it.

I don't think we're too far away from the Bush effect, what with the Blair Effect being immediately followed by the Brown Effect!

Blair and Brown might be a lot of things, but they can at least form real sentences.. and their eyes are more or less the right distance apart.

We might have had controversial Prime Ministers and PMs who were out of their depth and ones who inspire(d) vitriolic hate, but you'd have to go a long way back to find one who was - actually - an absolute moron: the kind of person who couldn't run a shoe shop, let alone head-up a superpower.

Unfortunately I think political parties are exempt from the "junk mail" tag.
