I last used this shop 30-odd years ago. It stocked bulk supplies of cleaning materials in large packages. It was mainly a trade-counter operation, but would supply retail customers with individual packs of a gallon or so.

Must have ceased trading about 15-20 years ago?

The property is not subject to business rates.

I can't imagine there would be any objection to reclassifying the ground floor to retail usage again as the shop frontage is already in place and this is in line with Southwark's development plan for Lordship Lane.

If interested why not register an interest with the owner? People change their minds.

The shop finally closed maybe 7 years ago. The new occupant(s) did a few cosmetic changes to the outside - pointing and so on - but nothing obvious since. Now it just looks tatty. If they aren't going to turn it back into a shop, it would be nice if they could at least give it a lick of paint.
Upland, the property had a change of use to residential some years ago as Macroban lady had hit on, the owner uses the whole property despite having newspaper on the upstairs window. The Shopfront has not yet been changed due to personal circumstance. They are not interested in selling, trust me. ;-)
