Sarahbeee
I'm just wondering, for a final canvas of opinion before I rule out totally - is Farrow & Ball (or in fact Little Greene paint as I can get a discount on it and heard it's on par with F&B finish) a total no-go on interior walls if you have two young children? I hear it's a nightmare to retouch?I'm in love with the chalky finish but hear I may have to sacrifice that for durability instead - ie, not F&B or Littlr Greene.Would love to know what anyone thinks?..Thanks! wolis
I would go with Little Greene, much nicer to use than F&B. Polyvine decorators glaze is very good..We have protected our special finished wallpaper with it and on handpainted furniture. Available in Gloss, Satin or Dead Flat. Very easy to use and durable. Plough Homecraft do some of the range but Brewers near New Cross have the full range. hoipolloi
If you love the Farrow and Ball colours but don't want the chalky finish, which is hard to maintain, you can get a colour match from Dulux. We did this at the B&Q on Old Kent Rd, just took in sample of F&B painted on to card and they matched it, we painted over the F&B with it and you can't tell the difference colour wise but the Dulux is more hard wearing. Sarahbeee
Thanks, I'm pretty set on LG now and they also do a version which is washable, win win! I'll save their chalky one for our bedroom only :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/109417-posh-paint-with-children-on-the-loose/#findComment-1006628 Share on other sites
yeknomyeknom
Just painted my shed in the washable lg one (for interiors, it's durable). My office is Abigail ahern paint which is so Matt and chalky and it's fine with kids. Does it get smudged? Yes. Can you retouch with a tester pot in seconds? Yes. I have a 3 yr old. Go,for, what you love. Buy more than you need coz these paints made from the need many coats to look prime - 3 or 4 coats.
