I was in a card shop today. Boy, do they have all the bases possible covered. Father's day cards...

- for fathers

- for stepfathers

- for fathers to be ("a card from the bump" - I jest not)

- for the person "who was like a father to me"

- for grandads

- for grandads who are having their first father's day as a grandad

- for an uncle (???)

- for "my fianc?" (??????)

- from the dog

- from the cat

Bless him, but...

Kids like to do stuff and it's pretty harmless

Or rid ourselves of Easter and Christmas while we're at it

Me too. But when they are young can't you say no! Just told my teenager no, but then said why not bake me a cake.

Not a fan of mothering Sunday either as this is supposed to celebrate mother church.

Perhaps we should be nice to our parents every sunday!

Even that sounds creepy

But anyway, here we go

That card is a just odd, because who stands on a road (in silhouette) surrounded by sand dunes, in the middle of no-where saying "I love you, Daddy"

It should be followed by

"WTF are we doing standing in the middle of the road, what would mummy say abou that? You know how she's very strong on using the crossing points. I wonder if it's this along with other things that Mummy talks about and why you now live at Grandma's house"

Plus they look like they've levitated a couple of inches of the Tarmac

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
