Ive out this here knowing that the editors will shuffle it over to an area they think is more appropriate. Never mind!

I am a Labour Party member, and the local MP has written a letter explaining why she has supported the vote of no confidence in Jeremy Corbyn.

Here is my reply; If you want to you can copy/paste, pass it around etc.

Hallo Ms Hayes MP

I am writing this with the feeling that in view of the numbers involved its unlikely to be read, but I want to state my view.

It is being presented to us that Jeremy Corbyn does not have the support of the majority of MP's.

What you, and the parliamentary MP's need to "get" is that you do not have the support of the ordinary and natural Labour Voters throughout the country. The Labour party had the opportunity to present itself in a new light in last the Labour leader contest, and failed miserably. This failure is not just of the Labour Parliamentary group. It is a failure of the "First past the post system", of the Blairite "win the minority middle ground" approach, and indeed of Parliament itself. Parliament has become the bastion of privilige, wealth, careerist politicians, corruption (the expenses scandal) and penetration by business and lobbying.

Unless you and the parliamentary team grasp that it is not the voters who have left you, and that it is the PLP's who have left the voters, you will make no,progress.

The PLP treated Corbyn appallingly; they, and the right wing press, mounted an attack that was reactionary, misandristic, ageist, classist and hateful. The PLP and the press, demonstrated their utter inability to handle change. And that is incredible, since it is change that is expected of the voters.

I see no one in the PLP who has the integrity, or the creativity to present anything other than another "Tory Lite", PR ready, slick and bland alternative.

If the PLP ousts Jeremy Corbyn, I will cut up my membership card and return it to you in pieces,

Yours Sincerely,

R N Gutsell

I disagree with you gutsell. I and many others who voted for Jeremy can also not longer support him and if someone like Angela Eagle stands will vote for her. 41% of the membership did not vote for Jeremy. They have a voice too. We need a leader that can bring all sides of the party together.

Every MP was elected by LABOUR voters under the leadership of Ed Milibnad. Confusing membership with electorate is the biggest error being made by many die hard Corbyn supporters who just can't seem to accept that there are other MPs on the left who would do a better job of leading.

I want McDonnell to stay, and the left direction to continue, but I also want a leader that is a natural leader. Jeremy isn't that. Sorry.

Shame she didnt see fit to follow the party's rules on challenging a leader and decided to follow a well organised coup whilst hiding in the shadows until so much damage has been done to the party that a leadership election is inevitable.

Not what i would call great leadership material.

If a decent leader had presented themselves the JC wouldnt have won, no one did.

If one emerges from under their rock i would be happy to lend them my vote, unfortunately i don't think any one will

Frankly you're making one heck of an arrogant assumption about what Labour voters think. I suspect that Corbyn has s lot of support, but not as much as much as you think.

All this party politics at a time of acute national crisis is palpable.

We need leadership from our Government and from the Official Opposition. The bickering needs to stop, and we need to quickly decide the runners and riders, call a leadership election and get over with. Time to move on to more important things than self indulgence.

    • It looks as though there will be 10 of us!  We are going to Love Dulwich again for a lunch and will checkout their 'normal' menu - from what we remember from the last 2 times we went = there was plenty to satisfy every one and they were happy to take party bookings.- Hubby and I have worked out that if all our daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were  to come - there would be 20 of us!! As it is - the Essex  family branch live too far away to come over for an evening - so we will meet up in Essex at a later date.

    • Just to warn anyone thinking of employing or engaging Chris and Anna Richmond, that nothing has changed.  The accounts above from others are all too familiar.  A job that we were told would take between 6-8 months is now entering its 23rd month.  They have taken enormous amounts of money from us, finished nothing, and the quality of the work that they have delivered is poor to substandard.  They take no responsibility themselves - there are endless excuses and everything is someone else's fault.  They do not care about the impact that their actions have on anyone else.   They are, at best, chaotic. They have not delivered as the designers or project managers that they claim to be. They are rarely on site to monitor the progress or quality of the job that is being delivered and they and manage their largely non-English speaking workforce by WhatsApp and Google translate.  There has been little evidence that they employ the skilled tradespeople needed to lay tiles, install bathrooms and kitchens, decorate and complete to the standard that we have paid for.  I cannot stress enough, that if you are currently in discussion with Anna and Chris Richmond about a future job or have paid them money up front for a job that they have slipped in delivering, to quit while you are ahead.  Things won't get better.
    • Hi All, I’d like to recommend Aaron Manser, who several others on this forum have also used. Aaron is an excellent plasterer, and has just finished a complicated piece of plastering work for me, including a large expanse of ceiling. His work has been of the highest quality, his attention to detail is exceptional, and he’s also very quick, and tidy too. As an added bonus he has a lovely singing voice. Happy to provide any photos of the work he has done. This is the third time over the past few years I’ve had Aaron back. Aaron Manser - 07773 410661 Regards, Damien
