Does anyone want to or know anyone that can run a film night in the lovely Nunhead during arts week?

The venue will be organised but the person who can will have to organise the film and the small amount of marketing needed. There will be help but you will have to lead the event. It will take place during the Nunhead Arts week http://nunheadarts.blog.com/

Expensives will be taken care of, within reason, as this is part of a small voluntary organisation.

I think to be on the safe side you would have to get permission to use a DVD, but the person who would normally do the film night has lots of short films and he will be willing to edit them down and select the best to put on one DVD, so it could be a short films night. If you are interested I am sure you can choose the short films yourself, or even add to them!

Any takers to do a film night in Nunhead???

We might be able to help! I'm one of the group of volunteers than runs the Dulwich Paradiso Film Club but we operate outside of ED too! We have all the equipment and also accounts with a couple of distributors etc. Have a look at the website www.paradisofilm.co.uk (you can email us via the site if you like). We've a new season starting at the EDT on 30 October but we also like to do interesting one off events. For example, we're doing an autism friendly screening of a kids film at Darrell Road Community Centre on Oct 6. Anyway, maybe hear from you if you're interested in talking more. Neil

    • Another TSG van on blues and twos just shot down Underhill, passing my house at 15:30 hrs. Which suggests this residential street is now an accepted emergency route to the South Circular. Which it never used to be. And which I'm guessing reflects a change in road usage which is likely to have been influenced by other recent road changes locally. But I'm sure life is much quieter now in other roads, so lucky them. But their quietness shouldn't be seen, in my view, as being a universal benefit to the area.

    • I hate to be that guy but i don't think you'll get much joy calling 999 if your phone has been stolen.
    • Unless you are watching it 24x7 then its hard to qualify that its not being used. Unless you are a business overlooking it of course. Personally I am reassured we still have phone boxes as they provide a valuable emergency use. If you are mugged for you phone, you can call 999 from them, if your house or business is on fire and you run out without a phone you can dial 999 from them. Some people don't have a mobile so its potentially reassuring for them knowing they can call someone if they feel unwell whilst out.  Just because some people don't see value in an object, doesn't mean others don't.
