(date tbc). There will be space for a few stalls, with all the other bits planned for that day.Have an Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1153-allotment-owners-sell-your-produce-in-september/ Share on other sites
ed_pete
Sorry to be a spoil sport but my allotment lease, at least, does not allow the sale of produce that I grow :(. Besides which, the few bits greenery I manage to produce that's actually worth eating is rapidly consumed by my offspring. ed_pete
Sorry I don't know about other allotments, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I believe the ethos is non-commercial. East of Dulwich
I'd be interested to know who you need to contact to apply for an allotment in this area -- especially the ones on Underhill Road. monica
The general ethos is that allotments cannot be used for commercial or financial gain,i know this because i have had this discussion with allotment owners who give their produce away or trade it for other produce Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1153-allotment-owners-sell-your-produce-in-september/#findComment-30353 Share on other sites
Quaywe
And how would one prove that a vendors fruit and veg came from said allotment? And would the "Allotment Police" really be stalking market stalls to find out?!If you have items surplus to requirements at the end of the season who bloody cares!? Really, cut the crap and just sell the things if you want to. monica
Thats all very well edkiwi but allotment owners are bound by their contracts, which states they cannot sell from the allotment,if they can do it and get it away with it,then good luck.Allotments have managers who funnily enough use local markets to buy from themselves, and i heard a story that someone was selling their produce at bootfairs, who got caught and lost the allotment.Serious stuff Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1153-allotment-owners-sell-your-produce-in-september/#findComment-30356 Share on other sites
