bannana tree on barry road

Has any body noticed the bannana tree at 202 barry road which has now actually got bannanas on ot i have been keeping an eye on this as i walk to the bus stop every morning for the last 2 years and it has survived the last 2 winters amazing and i have noticed that the house upstairs has some great orchids growing

We have banana trees in our front garden too and we had bananas about 2 or 3 years back, ours is an ornamental banana Musa basjoo. Tiny little hands of green bananas, quite phallic looking, they stayed on for months and months:))

update the bannana tree and it owner is now famous...

It is now going to be in the local paper and the bbc have been in contact i see the owner posing for pictures and it is now proving popular with people taking photos :)
