Denmark Hill trains - are they really full in the morning?

Recommended Posts

I've never used Denmark Hill station before but need to be in Chelsea for 9.30am tomorrow. Can you usually get on the 7.53am to Victoria or would I be better getting an earlier one?

I'm going to see a new client so don't want to find I can't get on a train and be late!!

Thanks for any replies.

You'll be fine. The 7.59 is sometimes quieter since it's a fast train and lots of people get on the 7.53 instead. I usually get on the first carriage without any problem although you need to stand. If you stay further down the train (closer to the stairs), then you may even get a seat. Best of luck with the new client - and don't panic if you are running late. I used to get the 8.30 on occasions and still make it to South Kensington for 9am.

    • I use Turo, haven't heard of Hiya but it seems to be a similar platform (will have to check that one out). Turo is pretty good, you get a decent selection of cars in your area and insurance is factored in - depending on what kind of car you want it can be very good value.
