I'm afraid I agree with you lavender27.

Don't get me wrong I love the sun/summer but can't handle the warm nights at all, it feels like the temp. rises so much in the evening/nights & I really struggle. I found myself wishing for some colder weather, how bad am I? LOL

Why are we never happy?

No need, the hot weather seems to be over and we're back to normal.

Saw my first duffle coat / woolly hat combo today. In AUGUST. John Lewis has Halloween stuff prominently on display and summer outdoor things reduced.

So - what's everyone doing for Christmas?

Tonight's going to be another warm and sultry one apparently, so, for the OP's benefit, I tried filling a hot water bottle with cold water, chilling it for several hours in the fridge, then using it like you would a hot one to cool the bedding and to put my feet on. Worked pretty well and I didn't get any problems with condensation on the outside. I guess it could be used for children as well.

I'm pretty sure you'd get a call from social services if you put children in the fridge for several hours....

    • A friend of mine was into "skill swap" about 40 years ago. It wasn't within an organised scheme, she just offered services like help with painting in exchange for services received. She upset some people as they carried out their services for a living, I.e. for money. An organised scheme sounds much better.
    • Gosh, that is a blast from the past.  Friends in York were into this, he was an accountant and had things like decorating done in exchange.  Not sure if it was equivalent in terms of hours, and I recall HMRC being interested as it was a way of tax avoidance.   A link for a London wide scheme but have no idea of its popularity: https://www.londonwide.letslink.org/members/index.php
    • Is anyone else having problems trying to register their car for a residents LTN permit for upland road as the council web site only seems to want to allow blue badge holders a permit .
    • Posted around 12 cards 2 weeks prior to 24th December. Had some responses so know people have received them. Had about 20 cards - mixture of hand delivered and via post. After years of 'nagging' by myself and our daughters, we may have cured hubby of spending £4 plus on individual cards for our immediate family  ( when you have 12 immediate family it costs a bomb) Also as the girls state, they get put in the recycling bad at beginning of January regardless of cost.
