I have sold my Champions League tickets on to a friend of my Mum's. (Manc ST holder). I e-mailed UEFA to ask them for written consent of a name change and got the following response:

"Hi Anna!

Unfortunately, it is impossible to sell the tickets or return them.

You can read UEFA rules on the site.

Best regards!

Dina"

And they wonder why the have ticketing and touting problems. I have tried to do this legitimately and only entered the ballot with the hope that my team would make the final. Why would I go now?

I think it's disgusting. (6)(6)

Hey annasfield

Apologies if you've put the detail in a previous post but I've just read the last 4 pages and didnt see anything, I'm sure I read somewhere over the weekend that all this stuff about names on the ticket was a bluff and that both Chelsea and United had said that their tickets wont have names on them - might be worth investigating further?

That maybe so but at the end of a player's career they want medals on the sideboard and correct me if I'm wrong but he hasn't won f**k all at Arsenal.

Anna I thought you said that if you wrote to Uefa for consent, you could change the tickets... is there not a terms and conditions thing you could quote? Altenitively, go on facebook, and send a message to everyone with your name, there must be a chelsea or manc supporter amongst them!!! :-S

To be fair, most players that have left the Arsenal (Henry included) have had by far the best years of their careers at Arsenal, there are not many who have decided to go elsewhere whilst at their peaks.

I've sold them. The fella I have sold them to isn't bothered - he just wants to go.

I was just venting - I find it bloody ridiculous. I tried to the right thing, but UEFA won't allow it. I have a copy of the T&C's at home where it says about the written consent. Mysteriously they are no longer on their website.

If Hleb wants to go, let him. Having him watched all season at home and few away, he has failed to fulfill his potential. And if it's about money, let the greedy bugger go. We don't want to end like Chavski, paying ludicrous wages to has beens like Sheva & Bollock.
I actually agree Atila, but I think there is only so long before Arsenal will have to start paying more to keep up there. Bringing the young ones through is an obvious talent of Wenger's, but I think he needs to invest in some more experience, and a bigger squad to avoid the burnout that undoubtedly hindered such a promising season this time round.
Hmmm...as regards to Michael Ballack (or Bollock has Atila has christened him), he's played really well in the last few games for Chelsea and has really started to look the business scoring a few important goals along the way but if they still end up with nothing in the trophy cabinet at the end of the season then has he been worth the wages?

Keef - They're not friends as such, more like business associates. It's okay, we're giving him plenty of stick.....

He sent me an E-mail this morning with "European Champions!!" as the title. When I replied I changed it to "European Champions - Yes we have been - 5 times!!!" It's gone from there really. He's buying me lunch tomorrow, so I intend to fleece him. ;-)

Anyway back to more important matters - Torres (tu). What a first season!? 32 goals ain't three bad and all have come from open play. Ronaldo(and even though I cannot stand the man) has been immense. However out of his 40 - how many have been pens or free kicks? Don't get me wrong a goal is a goal, but if Torres took our pens etc, I reckon he'd be competing in the 40's too.

Are you going Mr Lush? - I am, perhaps we could travel up together? (although I will be seeking an away supporters pub)

    • London doesn’t have a lot of Argentinian places specialising in empanadas, which suggests demand isn’t that great. There are many neighbourhoods with none at all or even nearby.  So for a mini-chain like Chango (several branches in SW London) to open here where there’s already a well established family run place doing the same feels a bit off.  I’ll be giving Chacarero my ongoing custom.
    • This is so helpful, everyone, thank you. @green bean Yes we have just (as of yesterday) installed the same external blinds you mention! We already had blackout blinds and we now have the external awnings too. Of course that will guarantee the end of the summer sunshine but I can see that they're going to be helpful as they let the light through but not the glare of the sun - I'm fed up of working in darkness with both the blackout blinds closed on sunny days. We'll see how we go with those for a bit but I reckon we'll get a couple of quotes from the other recommendations in case we end up going the whole hog. @penfold Love the idea of getting solar+batteries to offset the electricity usage so will look into that.  Thanks, all.
    • Yes Sally, I've emailed him several times since Xmas. I don't contact Councillors frequently but when I've done so over the years, I've found them generally engaged and responsive. It's unprecedented to just be ignored and, regardless of the query I'm raising, that's worrying from the point of view of  our local democratic voice. Its a Councillors role to represent local people! A different thread on here made reference to a lack of response from one of our ward councillors and, since there are only two, I'm guessing it's the same one. I'm following up my own concern separately but I'm asking on here about whether others have had the same problem. I'd like to think it's a one-off but, increasingly, I suspect it's not. Hope that gives a bit more context!
