Keef
On recent form (Saturday aside), he should play some of those toddlers in the league.Normally wouldn't be bothered about Wednesday, but after last weekend, I would like to give Spurs a hiding! Jah Lush
Wishful thinking Keef but I feel that our little run could come to an end tomorrow night depending on the team that Rafa Benitez puts out, though of course I hope that Spurs can keep their good run going since Harry Reknapp took over. Annasfield
I'm going to this match tomorrow. Quite surprised how expensive the tickets are considering it's a league cup game. Know of a hell of a lot away regulars who are swerving this one because of the cost. Definitely think that Rafa will give the kids a run out tomorrow and potentially have "THE Kid" on the bench. He needs to regain his match fitness, but I suppose it depends on whether or not Rafa wants to risk him. I can see Spurs winning this (damn the last time I said that I was right) as our schedule is hectic enough at the moment. Jah Lush
I think Rafa will play three or four of the "kids" as you put it but I also reckon that Torres will definitely play even if it's for only an hour or so. Annasfield
Nice one bon3yard - I'll look out for you. ;-) Carling Cup game at Anfield is about ?25 and at the Emirates it's a tenner. Not sure why Tottingham are charging so much. Oh well..... Keef
Just hope Rafa doesn't play Ngog, based on the last run out he had! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/170/#findComment-146980 Share on other sites
Annasfield
Ngog was the least of our problems tonight. Degen was shocking and Babel couldn't have been any more frustrating if he'd tried. We were poor!! Stonewall pen I thought and VERY surprised it wasn't given. Could have turned the game around, but I don't think Cesar (?) had a shot to save. Fair play Spurs. bon3yard
Your right it was a penalty but you were outfought and outplayed tonight. 2 shots 2 goals? We finally got the performance we've been threatening even with the absence of 6 first teamers. Superb. Erm...can we play you every week? :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/170/#findComment-147090 Share on other sites
Keef
Fair play spurs, but lets be honest, you weren't really playing Liverpool this time round. I feel sorry for those players, they get their one chance and get slaughtered. Unlikely to improve their chances of first team football. bon3yard
Whatever, we didnt have a full strength side out either remember. Obviously Rafas priorities lie elsewhere, doesnt say much for your strength in depth though. Keef
Well no, it doesn't. When you consider Arsenal can field a team of school boys and they'd give anyone a match. I know you weren't full strength either, but I recognised most of the names on your team sheet at least. Anyway, lets just hope it pays off for us in the league, although I don't see how saving 3 or 4 matches is going to make a huge difference. Get rid of the stupid group stages of the champions league, that might save your players a bit more! Annasfield
Our reserves and youth team were superb last season, but rumour has it all is not well at. Melwood. To be fair, it wasn't actually the youngsters that let us down last night - Dossena a first team regular, made no end of cock ups and the less said about Degen the better. Our passing was shocking in the first half.Have your moment in the sun, what a shame Chelsea were knocked out too to steal your thunder. ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/170/#findComment-147098 Share on other sites
