No apologies necessary. Tottenham are crap at the moment and Blackburn are playing really well with both of their strikers really firing on all cylinders. So even I don't hold out much hope on this one.

Birmingham 1 Wigan 1

Chelsea 2 Man City 1

Man U 3 Boro 0

Portsmouth 2 West Ham 0

Reading 2 Newcastle 2

Sunderland 2 Fulham 0

Bolton 0 Villa 3

Derby 0 Everton 2

Liverpool 2 Arsenal 2

Spurs 1 Blackburn 2 (doom and gloom)

I am just hoping that after last night's amazing dispay at the Emirates, and a hard game on Sunday at Anfield, Arsenal will be feeling deflated and out-of-sorts for a mere Carling Cup clash in Sheffield on Wednesday....

Well I can hope can't I? :))

Gooners rejoice, there is no other team on the planet playing football on our level. Once again Arsey shows the world just what he can do with a blend of youth, skill, and maturity. Long may his reign contintune at Ashburton Grove. The man is a gem, a well educated and erudite gem ( eat your heart out Alex Fergusmoan!!!)

But Simon we will be playing our second team of toddlers so they will be very fresh!

he is probably good enough to stabilise them and avoid relegation. Just. And even then only maybe

Not sure who else is around who would take the job and do better anyway

There must be some unknowns in the background who are better then the usual suspects when a managerial vacancy came up. Imagine when Graham went from Arsenal if we chose only from the available crop of British Managers.. heaven help us

Then again, the FAI tried to be bold with Stan and look where that got them,...

Obviously I'm feeling rather gutted today with the way things have been going on at Tottenham Hotspur but Martin Jol's sacking was always going to happen once the board started courting Juande Ramos back in August. I also feel very sorry for Chris Houghton who has been at the club man and boy since 1977. I'm certain that Martin Jol will have success elsewhere and he will be in great demand. He's an excellent coach and a very decent man. I wish them both the very best of luck.

In spite of the fact that I'm a gooner, I think Jol has been treated disgracefully, but as this is the Spuds Board we are talking about, I'm not surprised. I hope the guy gets a good job and comes back to haunt the morons that make up the Spuds board of directors, he deserves it. He has managed to maintain his dignity throughout this whole shambolic episode, which is more than can be said of the idiots on the board.

    • https://www.letslinkuk.net/ I'm interested to know why the OP didn't find this sort of scheme to work, as I would have thought it was much harder to find someone to do a direct exchange with? Does anybody else have experience of a scheme like this? Happy to be persuaded!
    • I personally think is a great idea Bobbly and would love if there was a section for it. I wouldn't offer free gardening under the "for sale" section as I would expect something in exchange and wouldn't expect our cat being looked after for free under the "wanted" section, as an example.
    • Looking for used decking boards. Should be hardwood
    • I have fond memories of Govinda's I used to go there  back in the 90's (maybe earlier) for an affordable tasty lunch..I was wondering if its still around. Now I have to make a point of going there. Does anyone else remember a really affordable basement cafe run by the church in a street off of Golden Square? parallel to Regent Street? I also used to love the Vegetarian cafe on Neal Street in the basement (Neal Street Cafe?) and there was an inczredible inexpensive authentic Japanese resturant I use to go to with my Japanese friends (who introduced me to it) tucked away behind Long Acre where that brown brick modern building ('modern' I think it went up in the 90's!) now stands that fronts Long Acre and Neal Street..I think it was called Asakasa or something?
