"I'm bloody glad Everton dropped points this weekend though"


No probs mate. Pretty encouraging performance. After a scary first 20 minutes or so West Ham really began to dominate the game. Boa Morte subbed thank god (please never let him play again, he's been worse than useless all season). Ashton becoming sharp again (despite a missed sitter), Sears looking very exciting, Noble returning to form (second half anyway, without him we're a lesser team) and Tomkin's inexperience contributed to Everton's goal, he looked better and better as game progressed.

BBC says Everton dropped 2 points, I'm pretty sure it was West Ham who did.


Not that anyone cares mind you.....

Funnt how Man U will moan about refs week in week out, but on an occasion where they benefit from reffereeing, he's suddenly had a great game :-S


You can't be serious when you say "Liverpool were beaten before he got sent off", that's totaly bo!!ocks, it was 1-0. Liverpool even put a lot of pressure on for an equaliser, but as I said before, this left them open. I don't care if I lose 1 nil or 5 nil so long as they're trying to get back in it, and Man U's defence looked far from comfortable.


Anyway, it's all done and dusted now, and Man U definitely in the driving seat for the title... A 5 point gap is not imposible to overturn though, as Arsenal have found out.

I don't moan about refs. What possible influence could I have? We out played Liverpool end of. 3-0 doesn't lie and a goal up by the time Masher was sent off. And the title is far from over but I can say with great satisfsfaction, a big grin and a warm sense of well being that Liverpool won't win the league AGAIN this season.

Hahahahaha. Here we go. I'm from the Midlands. I have supported Man United ever since I was a small boy. My father (81) has supported united all his life. I have pictures of myself as a young lad in Man united kit (the 70's when we were shit). I am a member of United and have been for about 15 years. I go to Old Trafford as often as I can (last time was when we lost to Coventry in the Carling Cup). How often do you get to Anfield? Oh, and despite the fact that I obvioulsy can't be a true United fan, Liverpool still aren't going to win the league this year.

Since you have asked me one in return, I'll answer it. My family are from Crosby, hence my support for Liverpool. I go up to Anfield quite regularly and the games so far in 2008 include Sunderland, West Ham, Newcastle and I?m also heading up for the derby on Sunday. Not that it's a competition about who supports their club the most.......

With a Scouse father-in-law it's always a competition. Rio's good enough for United on occasion, should be good enough for England.

Well I was in Cambridge over the weekend and, the weather being truly horrendous, I watched both games in full in the hotel bar. I think Steve Bennett was quite dreadful. The Torres booking was ridiculous and other decisions were distinctly dubious. I recall Ronaldo going down in the area quite artistically and appelaing for a penalty, which was rightly waved away by Bennett but really such a blatant dive deserved a yellow. It was quite obvious that Mascherano's second yellow was simply a matter of time - he was giving Bennett so many verbals - and I did wonder if, when it did arrive, it was more the cumulative effect of the previous half hour's rather than the actually quite innocuous circumstance of the 2nd booking. Whichever, Mascherano should have stayed calm and, once it was clear he had quite lost it, his team mates should have dragged him off: one did make the attempt as I recall, but it really needed the team captain to assert his authority.


Although it was only 1-0 at the time of the sending-off, Man Utd could and should have been about 3-0 up I thought. Rooney missed two golden chances when the Liverpool goalkeeper was quick off the mark. But the sending-off ruined the contest. Torres could not do much up front on his own against the Man Utd defenders. An equaliser never looked on the cards.It was just surprising really it took so long for the 2nd and 3rd goals to arrive.


I was, incidentally, also amused by the light-hearted discussion about who was the more loyal fan. This is one competition I shall never win. I saw Sheffield United - "my" team - play Middlesbrough in the 5th Round of the FA Cup a short while ago and this was the first time I had seen the lads live and in the flesh in 33 years......>:D< (trust me there good reasons!). You'd yhink at the very least they'd have managed a goal for me after all this time....

Was pretty dull.

But I thought the first half was encouraging. given time (5 months preparation, plus plenty of time to grow during the ensuing year and a half) he may yet forge a half decent side.

It was a friendly, they never exactly set anything alight do they. I swore I saw Rooney and Makelele hugging at one point!

      Thanks all, our hope was (despite the diminishing estate) he would get on with it.  Progress is glacial, it's been two years since probate was granted, that's two cold and damp winters with no heating, and not surprisingly a pipe burst. He's blames the issues on the estate agent, who separately had a dispute with him, he had a wobbly when one of the beneficiaries spoke to the estate agent.  Separately he said it was the family's fault for letting the property get into a poor condition.  It was dated, but certainly not in poor condition. There are two five star reviews on Google, and five one star: ** WARNING** This solicitor firm has to be one of the worst I have encountered. The solicitor is prehistoric in his practices and will carry out work at his own snails pace, the fax machine he uses gets turned off at 2 pm and its near impossible to get him on the phone. STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, check the solicitors ombudsman, this firm has previous bad practice recorded.   Disgusting under no circumstances use this solicitor.For over 10 years he has not carried out the terms of a Will he has not re-invested money but has retained it.  He writes letters which are pure "Flannel" excuses for doing nothing.  You have been warned   shocking experience, delayed the whole process, told other side solicitors to not contact him as he feels pressured etc. never use.   Not fit for 21st century. No website, no email address, no electronic transfer. Very slow, very little communication.   Was not a pleasant experience dealing with this firm

      If you mean the one outside the church going towards Peckham, it still had the closed sign on it this morning, but as there are no road works there, I'm sure some of the drivers will stop there on request.  The stop outside the chippy coming from Peckham is closed as there are road works in front of it.  The 4 way traffic lights are in operation.., causing a lot of congestion.
