atila the gooner
And Man Ure having fisty cuffs with Chavski ground staff. Are the Mancs about to implode?? Surely nobody wants to see that happen to such a lovely bunch of people!!!;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/111/#findComment-98374 Share on other sites

Sandperson
Actually I come from closer to Coventry. They did better than United too with a draw against the mighty Wolves! You've been there, done that, got the t-shirt...just less times than Manchester United 9 to 3 in fact....oh and no European Cups. Come along try and keep up. Keef
I'm not fussed about Liverpool's result against Birmingham, as it means little for us now, but I do have to say that that free kick goal, with the guy doing everything possible to impede the keeper, was shite! I remember people like you when I was a kid, you'd see them in the shirt of whoever was doing well that year. So now run along and try not to be bullied by the big boys in the playground, because you'll only come running home to mummy in tears, saying "mum tell them to stop saying such nasty things about my team". I can't stop smiling.I can't make up my mind if you're stupid or naive. I hate people, not you personally, that support teams just for the glory, which proves your type has no soul, no heart and more importantly no passion. It has nothing to do with success, you sad fool, it is to do with loyalty, passion and heart for your club. But Man Ure followers have none of those attributes. Jog on. Keef
To be fair Atila, Man U were hardly setting the world alight 30 years ago.I always feel quite annoyed that I started supporting Liverpool after the real glory days... Okay, I've had a fair bit to cheer, but missed all the great 80s stuff because I wasn't really interested in footy as a kid, only started taking a real interest about 13-14 years ago at about 16. Chose Liverpool because I liked Macca, and Fowler. Then moved there, and it was unavoidable! Sandperson
So, there's not a single Man Utd fan with passion or heart for the club? I wonder why 75,000 turn up for every game? I'm just as passionate about my club as you are about yours but this is a bit of a pointless argument as I am pretty sure there's no way to measure this. If I'd started supporting them in 1992 I would deserve all the glory fan jibes you could jam into a post but realising my love for a team on the play ground in about 1979 wasn't exactly following the trend, in fact if I'd been a glory fan I'd be a Liverpool supporter. That is a very easy and accurate way to measure how you feel about your team. I've been watching the Arsenal, home and away, since 1968. In the 1980's we were crap, but I stll went and stood on the North Bank on a wet Tuesday night in November watching a 4th round Rumbelows Cup tie, against the likes of Bournemouth, with no expectation of winning. That is loyalty and passion. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/111/#findComment-98677 Share on other sites
Ladygooner
6-2 is not hard against Derby I know but that puts our goal difference above Chelseas. Now if only Newcastle can do us a favour next Monday we might be in with a chance of 2nd Place! Sandperson
The way you measure passion is that you support your club through thick and thin regardless of success, and you actually go to watch them as often as you can, home and away. So, you've just described me. We didn't win a title for the first 13 odd years of me supporting the team. We had some FA cup success. I have been a member of the club for many years and have travelled up to OT regularly over those years (there is no train back from Manchester to London on a week night after 930pm so this often involved ten hours driving and getting back home at 3 in the morning to be back at work the next day or sleeping in the station until the first train left). I've supported them away from home, one memorable game a few years back at the Library when we got thumped 4-0 in the Carling Cup. I've seen them win and lose, home and away. So you can call me plastic, glory hunter, prawn sarnie brigade what ever, I love my club and I always will.
