I found one invaluable for the short period of potty training when we couldn't make it down to Lordship Lane without needing a wee or poo NOW! (Her, not me.) But that phase was mercifully short and I know some people find it just as easy to carry a normal potty under their pushchair. But if you're not squeamish at the idea of a second hand potty then you can have our old one. PM me.

They are very useful, I can't imagine potty training without one. It made it a lot less stressful, as it was always under the buggy, and disposal of contents was so much easier than if we had been carrying around a normal potty. Doubling as a toilet seat was also great in the early weeks, and seemed to make our son more confident about using toilets when out and about as it was familiar to him.

We'll be using ours again soon to embark on potty training with #2, so a worthwhile investment in my eyes.

Really good I think - the folding mechanism on ours gets a bit stuck sometimes, but it's invaluable as an out and about potty. After not having it with me and our daughter having to 'go' behind a van, she now wants to find a van and go behind it every time, so I'd say keep it with you - it even fits in our car door pocket.

Having said that I'd not use it as a main potty - but def an essential addition for travel.

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.
    • Hi there, We are currently having issues with our current nursery in ED, and are looking for an excellent childminder or nanny locally. We live on Melbourne Grove so can walk within a 5-10 min radius. Ideally to start in January 2026 please. We have a 14 month old girl. Any recommendation for other childcare providers would be appreciated too! Thanks a lot, Jojo

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
