Hello!

// FREE YOGARISE COMMUNITY TASTER SESSIONS // SUNDAY 11 SEPT // 2.30-3.15PM + 3.30-4.15PM //

As part of Peckham Festival (8th-11th Sept) at venues around Copeland Park and Peckham Rye, we are offering you the chance to practise a free yoga taster session at Yogarise Peckham. With all voluntary donations going to our monthly charity.

For those of you who have never tried yoga or been to the studio before and fancy checking it out, sign up to our Yogarise Community Taster Sessions with regular Yogarise teachers, Will Wheeler and Emma Cowpe at 2.30pm and 3.30pm Sunday 11 Sept.

These classes are open to everyone - regular yogis, members, community gang and total yoga newbies - so spread the word, celebrate the festival, and come on down :)

Mats are provided so just wear something comfortable you can have a stretch in.

Our good cause of the month...

This September we're supporting Culture Device Dance Project and Multikids Inclusive Academy on a special project in Accra, Ghana. Culture Device Dance Project is an innovative dance company led by independent artists with Down's Syndrome. They are partnering with Multikids Academy ? an inclusive school for children with special needs in Accra ? to bring a creative program of movement, yoga and dance to the city. The program is not only focussed on helping children with movement, but also building bridges between the special needs community and broader society in Accra. This is an very important project for Ghana and West Africa, as it is creating much-needed space, visibility, connection and creative outlet for people with special needs.

Our regular Yogarise Community Classes are twice-weekly - Tuesdays at 5pm and Fridays at 11.30am and can be booked/reserved online for a small donation (free to drop-in for limited spaces).

For more information please contact [email protected] or our website www.yogarise.london and see @yogarisepeckham on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for updates.

Yogarise is located on the 2nd floor, B Block of The Bussey Building, Peckham Rye, London, SE15 4ST (there's a video on our website if you can't find us).

    • The step means Love Dulwich is not disabled friendly though they went to help someone on  crutches up the step last time we were there  much prefer it as a Turkish than café but maybe not for this group   The noise level might be an issue as it’s all hard surfaces though I don’t recall it being noisy. check out Olivelli the menu has a good range  though it’s not the best Italian you can get. There’s also a step up into Maria’s - much smaller but you need to negotiate the step and door at the same time. Olivelli has more room and if I remember right the toilets are on the ground floor. A consideration if steps are an issue The Lordship might be an option. Noise is not usually an issue. We’ve enjoyed various meals there. The ladies toilets are on the same floor as the tables (the gents may be upstairs). The staff are always friendly

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
