lucyannejames
Hi all, I have to say the state of ivydale playground for the main school is fairly shocking? Is anyone else surprised? Not quite the first start I had hoped for but I don't want to be too critical wonder if anyone knows when it's all going to be completed by. kittysailing
Just email the school and ask - it was supposed to be finished before term started but the council contractors have run over which is out of the school's control I guess. I was thinking how hectic everything must look for new parents but once it's all down there is actually a lot more space and everything feels a lot calmer at drop off! buggie
As suggested above, discuss with the school or look through the previous newsletters on the website - there have been very clear communications with parents regarding the situation, but guess this might not have been received by new parents. Sign up to Parentmail asap, and come along to the Parent Forum meeting on 4th Oct at 7pm where it will no doubt be discussed. nunheadmum
Also you can talk to the senior staff - Headteacher and Deputy Head - who are at the gates at most drop-offs and pickups. They'll be happy to give you an update as I understand they're managing things on a day to day basis to try and ensure that the work is completed correctly but as soon as possible. Having spoken with them, I know that they're as frustrated by it as the parents are - more so as it impacts so much that they're doing and distracts from the key task of educating our kids.
