When I worked in Central London, and needed a Doctor pronto, there's plenty of nearby options to just go private and see someone straight away (Sameday GP, CityDoctor etc) for ~?60.

I now work at home in ED, and while I could of course wait 2 weeks for an appointment and pay nothing, I've been trying to find a similar private GP in this area, and the best google can find for me is surgeries back in the City.

Does anyone know of somewhere around here like this?

Many large corporations have subscriptions with these companies as a free benefit for their employees. In part because it saves them money in lost time for employees taking time off to attend their local doctor.

And it's a tax deductible employee benefit.

In other words, follow the money. There's not enough demand for that service in the suburbs.

I'm Outside of the corp system. I used to be, but no more. There is the private market outside the corp structure. That is what I'm after. I know people get sensitive about the Nhs going private. While I support the nhs, I support my own family's selfish needs more.

Harsh, but true

Then you know fine well that you can contract a private doctor to visit you and charge you circa ?200.

The private doctor surgeries in the City are open 0800-1800.

They don't exist outside of zone 1/Canary Wharf.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

You asked if there was a private GP practice in the area.

There isn't.

Either there is no demand, or you've found a gap in the market.

You seem an intelligent person. My counsel would be to exploit that gap :-)

Note: I haven't been to a doctor in over 20 years. I have little knowledge of the health markets; nor an agenda...

Not private, but according to SELDOC you could try a walk-in centre:

Or find another GP surgery to register with? I can generally get an appointment on the day or within a day or two, and they're very good about fitting in children.

Not sure how you can be so sure there isn't a private GP anywhere in the area then!

There's this private medical centre in Herne Hill...

Health Hub, 282 Milkwood Road, Herne Hill, London, SE24 0EZ

    • There was quite an old clip on BBC4 recently where they were introducing yoghurt to the British public. They called it a 'Balkan Dairy Preparation', which sounded to me more like something you'd ask to speak to the male member of staff about in the chemist in those days.
    • I haven't had any problems, except when the online  appointment system is full, but I have found if something is urgent they can fit you in if you phone. I think they probably keep a few spaces free for urgent last minute appointments, but I'm just guessing  I've found it quite convenient being able to email questions which previously I would have had to ask at an actual appointment, and I've always had a speedy reply. You can send photos as well. I don't know about forms and letters. That sounds bad. Have the admin staff changed recently?

    • The yoghurt was very sharp (not sure of right word) and  if memory serves quite runny. Nothing like the stuff sold now. There was pink as well. Strawberry? That must have had sugar in? Too new fangled for us, but my Auntie Grace down the road used to get it 😂 Well, you had to keep up to date. Sorry, couldn't resist.
