Anyone had luck with car insurance for au pair?

Seems like most insurers won't let you add an au pair to your car insurance and if they do, it coats several thousand pounds. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I rang most insurers and most would not insure my 18 year old au pair. Direct Line will - be it was ?1500! I just had to pay it as I live in SE26 and my son needs to be taken to school in Dulwich. I was na?ve - it's apparently because you need to be a UK resident for at least a year to get 'normal' rates. The age doesn't help either! I might have to get an older au pair next time!
