BBC London Radio - Big George.

Recently on my holidays I have been listenting to some late night radio on BBC London. The Presenter Big George is a very good radio host. Well worth checking out. Between 12am - 6am. Here's a segment I found on you tube, which was nicely done.

Personally, I feel ( don't you love that get out clause ) it's rather like listening to a cement mixer with a loose brick in it

He churns & clanks his subjects, whilst huffing & blowing into the mike

All this, then an interlude of "musical cardboard" on 94.9FM

Thankfully I don't get to tune in unless I'm working late

Lastly, I bet he eats & talks at the same time ( to top it off )

Never heard the guy but calling music 'rubbish' is so subjective as it has to be. However I prefer not to slag off someone elses taste in anything. It's their taste.

I wouldn't worry about george's taste in music. He isn't allowed to play that. He is forced to play the BBC London blandalanda playlist. Tune in about 5.50 am for a taste

Not trying to say he doesn't. Define what you mean by rubbish music? Surely you don't listen to him because he might play music you approve of? It's a talk show. Why not email him and ask why he plays what he does? There is a reasonably large choice on the BBC London playlist. He also plays stuff sent in to him if he likes it. And he will often have the artist(s) in the studio if he likes them.

Jeez guys - why so defensive about BG?

I don't have to email him - I had a chat with him about it when I was in the studio. BBC London have a teeeny-tiny playlist (think Lifting by Lighthouse family and maybe about 3 other tracks that Radio Luxembourg would have thought safe in 1981) which they enforce on their presenters during certain hours of the day. He seemed about as happy with this as I did as a listener.

as for the guy himself he seems nice enough, and interesting to boot, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan

Sadly the great Danny Baker appears to have ruined SM for any other radio presenter.

I know that's the case for me.

Sadly I don't get to listen to him much these days.

All I've got is my Platinum Club membership number now.
