Pizza delivery scam

Just a heads up to everyone. We had a delivery man knock on our door tonight with 3 pizzas we had not ordered. We told him they were "not ours", he then said there were some youths hanging round outside and he thought itcould be a scam. We invited him in while the guys hung around outside for a while and I called the police. He was a bit scared I think though tried not to show it. I think they would have grabbed the delivery bag and possibly assulted him. If this happens to you keep an eye out for the delivery person and make sure he gets back to his vehicle safely if pos, I felt pretty sorry for him.

Pizza delivery guys carry cash, so the pizza boxes may just actually be a a bonus to what the scammers are really after.

As a former pizza delivery driver the first thing I was told was you either come back with the pizza or the money, so I doubt it!

On the SE4 Facebook forum, a similar story happened last night just up the road in Brockley. A Chinese delivery guy had his bike stolen when he was doing a delivery. It was also 3 lads who done it. Coincidence?

I expect people were saying the same hundreds of years ago, when there were cutpurses and other crims out and about in the streets of London ......
