Toddler apps for the iPhone

Someone mentioned these on another thread. Sound flipping great for long train journeys (such as the one we're about to take on next week). Can anyone recommend any specific apps as educational/distracting/fun etc?

'iTot cards' are flashcards with animals, food etc and will often keep my 18 month old distracted for an extra 20 minutes when necessary

hi if you go to the app store and put in top free apps we got the humpty dumpty one which my daughter loves and itsy bitsy spider, sponge bob square pants, and a chuggington (called roundhouse)one where you have to play the game to get a vid clip.

there is a dora one where you can pick the colours and paint her. I think the only one we paid for was the shrek one(about 59p) and its the latest film in book form and you turn the pages as its narrated.

also if you go to www.catchuptv.co.uk and sign up for free you can stream live tv. This has been a lifesaver for my daughter and me! its has every channel including cebeebies live as if you are watching tv so if they live milkshake on 5 they can watch that too(or when they fall asleeep you can watch tv!)

its free and once you have logged in once its all sorted. You can bookmark it you your main menu page to make it easier to find quickly.

My daughter loves 'Talking Carl' (he repeats what you say in a funny voice) and the toddler teaser games (have to touch shapes, colours etc).

Has anyone found an app that locks the screen so that when they are watching a video, little fingers all over the screen (or the button at the bottom) don't stop it?

Smack Talk is pretty funny although not suitable at restaurants as it can be loud. We also have Cupcakes (make your own fairy cakes), Doodle Buddy and also Ben 10 Mouth Off.

My little boy likes the Thomas app. Also you can buy episodes of tv programmes in iTunes or copy DVDs to your pc and then onto your iPhone. Watch your battery life though!
