Lordship Lane Road Works - alternative route?

.......

Recommended Posts

They seem to have gotten even worse this morning! Between when I left at 9am, and came back at 11am, they've added another works with 4 way temporary traffic lights.

I don't really know the area that well, and never driven around here - I've only just bought a car. I need to get onto Crystal Palace Parade from Melbourne Grove, is there another quieter route apart from College Road toll? I haven't driven in 3 years, so I'm weary of traffic, think I need quieter roads for the time being :P

You can avoid the toll road either by continuing on the south circular to Croxted Road (first one after West Dulwich station) which will take you up to Crystal Palace parade or by turning right at the mini roundabout before the toll and then left at the end of the road (up Alleyn Park)which will bring you on to the top end of Croxted road. Alternatively just go up Crystal Palace Road (which runs parallel to LL) and miss some, at least, of the road works.

up crystal palace road turn left onto goodrich road follow it all the way over barry road (zebra crossing to your left)

over friern road and also upland road (roundabout) and dunstans road (school on your right another roundabout) follow it up the road goes round to your left then at the end of the road turn right underhill road (should be a cemetry on your left) come to a roundabout turn left then right onto wood vale all the way to the end and this will drop you out at the bottom of sydenham hill

    • As of yesterday 3rd June Exeter City Council will remove some ltns straight away after 80%  of people out of 24000 opposed them other ltns will be removed during summer holidays.because of the negative impact . More congestion .longer journey times for transport/ emergency services /the disabled/  carers / school children . Even people living in the ltns .
    • Another thumbs up for Aria and AFE Plumbing Services. He came and replaced a really old tap that was badly corroded and dripping uncontrollably. Also solved another leak, replacing parts within minutes and working in a very confined space.  Excellent communication, very efficient, punctual, nice to have around and great at his job. Also very reasonable rates and he stuck to his quote, despite the job being somewhat more complex than he thought it would be. I'd definitely call on him again and can thoroughly recommend his services.
    • Yes old people can't read their smart phone screens.  Nor can they work out undemocratic changes to what is basically a trees, gardens and wildlife group. So the Trustees had to help them by excluding them. There there dear.  This was largely to protect the anonymous members of the new Transport Committee as they pick and choose who to listen to.  And who is the Chair of the committee? I thought it was Laurie Johnson.  Was she huddling in anonymity down at the front?   Just asking. I forgot to say that the voting slips tiold all the old people what to do - just like pages of instructions which arrived a few weeks ago.  Yes the voting slips had an instruction in bold telling the voters to vote against all the SGM motions, just to make sure the old dears didn't get muddled.
