  1. I can also very much recommend Fernando. He has just spent the morning doing some heavy digging for me and has done a great job. He was very easy to contact, fixed up a time with me for today and turned up promptly. He worked non stop for 4 hours, was very polite, neat and tidy and the end of the garden was looking so much better when he left. I have no hesitation in recommending him and would use him again.
  2. Yes and another recommendation for Pearce & Sons from me too - they have just been and did a fantastic job

Another big endorsement for Phoebe's it has by far the most extensive choice in the surrounding area. I am gutted to hear it is closing down!

  5. There are numerous recommendations/horror stories in the business section - just search "estate agent" and all will be revealed
  6. Hello EDF people We recently stripped off some wallpaper on one bedroom wall and whilst doing this about 7 small patches of plaster came away from the render underneath. As the wall is going to be painted in a sheen finish we need a good handyman or plasterer to fill these holes so there is no sign of these patches. Anyone out there that can do this at short notice or know somebody who can??? Photo attached of the area. Thank you
  7. I can thoroughly recommend Denise. She has helped my wife with our cleaning for many years - always prompt and punctual and does an excellent job. She is entirely trustworthy and I have no hesitation in recommending her.

    accents innit

The vast majority of yanks can't do much other than yank. Steve Jones will be next boyo unless Catherine Zeta sorts him out with her voice coach. A very strange insular country for the most part (USA not Wales) And of course the heart bleeds for Cheryl ............
  9. Barclays stockbrokers do an online account which has relatively low dealing charges
  10. Try www.englishcountrycottages.co.uk It does huge places as well as cottages.
  11. Yep most of them too - I have a very high ABBA tolerance and can forgive them the odd dodgy album track for the singles. Feel the same about the Beatles.
  12. Ok flapjackdavey, I will give you Thank You For the Music (tu)
  13. Went to Hakkasan last week for lunch (I was not paying). We had failed to get into any of the good restaurants in Charlotte Street (all fully booked) so I was surprised to see that there were only a few tables occupied at Hakkasan during the whole of the lunch service (and we stayed a long time!). The sevice was very good but I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the food, some of which was really not much better than you can get locally. I would not put it anywhere near the top of my list which is currently headed by The Square in Bruton Street.
  14. All of 'em - every single one >:D
  15. No snow at all here in town either. Is it snowing again in ED at the moment?
  16. Excellent news. Now how about seeing what can be done to reverse the (frankly) barking mad decision to abolish the London Bridge to Victoria service that serves Denmark Hill. That route is the backbone of Denmark Hill's services and very well used by people working at, or visiting, the Maudsley and King's College hospitals.
  17. Giggirl, have you checked that Alexander McQueen (RIP) designed the tracksuits before you leap into this one?
  18. Is anybody contemplating letting out their house during the London Olympics 2012?
  19. You can avoid the toll road either by continuing on the south circular to Croxted Road (first one after West Dulwich station) which will take you up to Crystal Palace parade or by turning right at the mini roundabout before the toll and then left at the end of the road (up Alleyn Park)which will bring you on to the top end of Croxted road. Alternatively just go up Crystal Palace Road (which runs parallel to LL) and miss some, at least, of the road works.
