macroban
I saw the first warning notice this morning near to the East Dulwich War Memorial when I was out shopping. The sign says work starts on 2007-09-03 with an estimated duration of three months. The sign also gives the customary warning about delays and using alternative routes.Does anyone have more information? Which parts of Lordship Lane? Will the work be done in phases? Which roads will be closed or made one-way? Will there be additional parking restrictions? citizenED
A letter came to our place from Thames Water regarding the replacement of water mains pipes on Lordship Lane. The works are from where Underhill Road meets LL up towards the The Grove.citizen Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1277-lordship-lane-water-main-replacement/#findComment-34152 Share on other sites
Ultraconsultancy
So that's the area south of Whateley Road then - going past Pellat, Goodrich, Landells, Barry and Uplands Road? citizenED
I dont think it is - perhaps I misread the letter, and can't find it now, but I think its further south, from Friern Road up to the Grove Tavern Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1277-lordship-lane-water-main-replacement/#findComment-34426 Share on other sites
Ultraconsultancy
Thanks, citizen. Not along the retail strip then. If you do find the letter could you let me know? macroban
The three months of alternative routes will be interesting.I wonder which will be best. Townleygreen
Well Gallery Road is still shut, that's one option shut off. What on earth have they been doing there apart from nothing. I expect it's another of Ken's attempts to give up using the car because of artificially created congestion.I expetc many people will go along Forest Hill Road instead, or Upland. macroban
Forest Hill Road is a little difficult at the moment.New junction configuration, not in anticipation of the Harris Academy. Townleygreen
This is clearly the climax of Ken's plan to gridlock our part of South London - roadworks on Forest Hill Rd, Lordship Lane, and Gallery Road simultraneously - brilliant! Sadly it looks like people will have to use the smaller streets of ED like Upland, Underhill etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1277-lordship-lane-water-main-replacement/#findComment-38083 Share on other sites
