I saw the first warning notice this morning near to the East Dulwich War Memorial when I was out shopping.

The sign says work starts on 2007-09-03 with an estimated duration of three months. The sign also gives the customary warning about delays and using alternative routes.

Does anyone have more information? Which parts of Lordship Lane? Will the work be done in phases? Which roads will be closed or made one-way? Will there be additional parking restrictions?

Well Gallery Road is still shut, that's one option shut off. What on earth have they been doing there apart from nothing. I expect it's another of Ken's attempts to give up using the car because of artificially created congestion.

I expetc many people will go along Forest Hill Road instead, or Upland.

This is clearly the climax of Ken's plan to gridlock our part of South London - roadworks on Forest Hill Rd, Lordship Lane, and Gallery Road simultraneously - brilliant!

Sadly it looks like people will have to use the smaller streets of ED like Upland, Underhill etc.

    • Where are the far left in all of this flag business? Thats a red herring  there is the far right leading this nonsense, a lot of people following them who claim to be ordinary people (but very little digging and oh guess what) and them there is everyone else (right, centre, left) opposing them    there is no “both-sides” on this
    • Deleted as I've just repeated what has already been said!
    • That is hilarious (not really) but what about all the copious parking for e-bikes and scooters?
    • How beautifully ironic, the article says mobs putting flags up are roaming the streets shouting "Sieg Heil" the cry of our enemy in ww2 determined to take our sovereignty away.  Its almost moronic. I saw something the other day that discussed how the medoa highlights the opposing ends of the situation, with the extreme right at one end and the far left at the other. What it mention are the ordinary people in the middle who don't support either extremes but still have genuine views that are being ignored by the media.
