Nero
It's opening tomorrow. I walked past, having gone to Jacks and found it shut. I asked if I could have a quick snoop around, and a nice young woman let me in. It's great - spacious, light, with a lot of room in the back. They'll be doing tea, cakes, sandwiches and selling teapots, cakestands, cups, saucers, tea leaves, infusions. citizenED
Been looking forward to this one opening. It's on my route as I walk down to the heart of The Strip. Certainly pop in in the next couple of weeks. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1283-tea-and-chandeliers-shop/#findComment-34424 Share on other sites
Nero
As I chatted to the nice young woman, we both concluded that that section of LL was a bit 'nicer', y'know, quieter and with more of a feel of space. It's Midtown, if you like, to fit in with Upper East Side. Got to agree with you though MW74 (not something we've been doing much of on another thread! :))), sometimes you just gotta have a good espresso. Maybe we'll have to make do. david_carnell
Oh yes...I remember talking to you about this before MW74 and we agreed, if only for Mr MW74's sake, then a music shop would be a must. Perhaps the owners of Rough Trade should be emailed forthwith. On an aside I seem to remember you saying Mr MW74 is a big fan of Springsteen. The London Paper reports he's playing the 02 Dome around Xmas time. I'm waiting for official confirmation. Gerrard
MW74 - isnt the music shop near the station any good? And I think there is one one on Landalls Road...Great position for a tea shop, meat, fish, tea and cake all within easy reach, fantastic! david_carnell
I think the music shops you refer to Gerrard are ones that sell sheet music and instruments. Very nice but what I had in mind was vintage vinyl and CDs.Something like Rough Trade, Jumbo Records or Beanos! Maybe with some books thrown in for the intelligensia.
