It's opening tomorrow. I walked past, having gone to Jacks and found it shut. I asked if I could have a quick snoop around, and a nice young woman let me in. It's great - spacious, light, with a lot of room in the back. They'll be doing tea, cakes, sandwiches and selling teapots, cakestands, cups, saucers, tea leaves, infusions. Nero

Oh yes...I remember talking to you about this before MW74 and we agreed, if only for Mr MW74's sake, then a music shop would be a must. Perhaps the owners of Rough Trade should be emailed forthwith.

On an aside I seem to remember you saying Mr MW74 is a big fan of Springsteen. The London Paper reports he's playing the 02 Dome around Xmas time. I'm waiting for official confirmation.

I think the music shops you refer to Gerrard are ones that sell sheet music and instruments. Very nice but what I had in mind was vintage vinyl and CDs.

Something like Rough Trade, Jumbo Records or Beanos! Maybe with some books thrown in for the intelligensia.

    • Sorry if the answer to this has been posted before, but I have done a search and I can't find it. Is the hospice shop accepting books (and books of music) at the moment?
    • I echo the previous recommendation of Aria. I have used his services on several occasions now and I am always impressed by 1) the speed of his response,  2) his honest pricing,  3) the quality of his interventions.  I had a washing machine crisis the other day where my old appliance started leaking badly and into the flat below.  Aria can within an hour of my call and sorted the whole thing immediately.  Impressive! Highly recommended!
    • Helen Hayes has represented Dulwich and West Norwood since the boundary change in 2024. The OP said Helen had already contacted Capita on their behalf, so I'm guessing she is their MP, otherwise she would have directed them to the appropriate person (unless she was particularly keen to take on extra work!)
    • Hi there. I need to move and it doesn't feel very eco friendly to buy boxes - if anyone has any I could reuse?  Happy to return once I've moved if you want to keep them! I'm moving Feb 26th so I'd be looking for some to use before then. Thank you! Kate
