I've never been, but hubby v keen to take 5 and nearly 4 year old to ski in Feb half term, or end March. I'll have a 8 month old too, and are going just us 5. Does anyone have any recommendations for a resort? Maybe with a nursery so I could "give it a go" (eeek) but mainly one that'll make the kids love skiing and my holiday easy!!

Thanks EDF!

I went to one of the Kinderhotels near Goldeck in Austria this year with my then 4 yr and 18 month old. There was skiing on site for the really little ones, shuttle to ski resort (including ski school) and lots of fab childcare. I would highly recommend.
I like La Rosiere, it's higher (1850) so the snow doesn't melt in the afternoon as much, it's got plenty of easy runs, you can ski to Italy, usual ski school, and if you go with someone like SkiBeat then they can sort out childcare (both babysitting in the evening and some chalets have a creche).
We went to Katschberg in Austria, which I highly recommend! There is a nice very family friendly hotel where you can walk on and off the slopes called Hotel Cristallo. There is a free nursery too. Amazing pools and saunas! All food included with an incredible buffet, very high quality food. We went at Easter and were pretty lucky with the snow, but it would definitely have been better earlier in the season. We have 3 children too and the room set up was perfect. I think the nursery only takes over 3s, but we paid for a 1:1 nanny for a few mornings to stay with our youngest.
We went with Ski Famille to Les Gets with a two year old and 9 month year old. We stayed in a chalet and they both went into the onsite nursery. Highly recommend as nannies were lovely. We went in March. Other families in the chalet had 4 yr olds who all went out skiing.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
