  1. These petitions are pretty pointless, doesn't matter how many people sign, they just get ignored
  2. Jules-and-Boo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hope those guilty get taken off the streets and > given the help they need I don't understand this statement, what help does someone need who's prepared to go out and stab someone?
  3. That doesn't annoy me as much as "yourself" and "myself" instead of you and I
  4. https://www.clintonmckenzie.com/ Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 5-7pm. It's ?10 per session: cash payment at the gym. It's ?80 per month: direct debit for monthly payment.
  5. Shouldn't you be cycling rather than getting a train?
  6. I'm still waiting for my TV to give me eye cancer
  7. Ban all planes....except the ones I use to go skiing or on my summer holiday
  8. I have also had a wall underpinned (I prefer reinforced) as part of a kitchen extension because the original foundation wouldn't have been able to support the structural changes we were making. As I recall when I renewed my insurance the question mentioned underpinning in relation to subsidence rather than just underpinning. I would think that a large proportion of extensions would require some reinforcement to existing walls, especially Victorian houses, so I doubt it would affect your insurance.
  9. Maybe the tax man would also be interested to hear about this guy? I'm assuming he asks to be paid in cash...
  10. Chez Bruce, they are paying so you can afford a cab
  11. nothing suspicious at all with JSD posting almost exclusively glowing reviews for Classic Lofts (16 of 17 posts)
  12. As people have already said it depends on whether the price you are paying is for a 3 bed or a 2 bed house. If they are selling it as a converted loft then clearly you need all the necessary approvals and permissions. If it's being sold as a 2 bed with potential then it's just storage and wouldn't have any building regs anymore than a boarded out loft space would have. Saying that if they are prepared to lower the price then that's a good thing!
  13. But you didn't bother checking it was just the tap before you called out Steve and then slagged him off on a public forum when it turns out to be something simple you Cnut!
  14. So you agreed a price, he came and did what you asked him to do and you are complaining? If it was such a small job why didn't you just go round there and turn on the tap?
  15. So in January you said you won't be going back, then went back. They made some mistakes and offered you a free meal but even that isn't good enough for you so again you say you won't be going back. What exactly do they have to do to satisfy you?
  16. SeanOfDulwich have you used the bifold shop? Are the doors any good?
  17. Have a look at www.codecademy.com, it has some tutorials on some decent languages (Java, Python, etc), might be a little advanced though
  18. Ikea, ?25 and you get a ?20 voucher to spend in January
  19. what about a boyfriend/girlfriend team? or does that offend you morally?
  20. Thank you for the advice. I'm going to write a pre-action letter to them and send it via email and also send it to the nursery, the registered address of the company, and to the home address of the 2 directors. Will probably hand deliver to the nursery as it's only down the road and then they can't claim non-receipt. I will list the reasons both sides decided that we couldn't continue to use the nursery - giving a bowl of coco-pops as a snack instead of fruit like they said they would and putting my sons nappy on so tight he was crying in pain - as well as pointing out that they already agreed to the refund. Hopefully that will do the trick and we can avoid court.
  21. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of the small claims court? I put my son in a nursery in September but after 4 sessions it became clear it was not working out and the manager suggested I take him out and they would refund the remaining fees. I have 2 emails from her in which she agrees to refund the money however now she is refusing and saying we signed a contract which states the fees are non refundable. Does the fact she agreed to the refund initially over ride the contract?
  22. This seems to be pretty common. We have had 5 builders round over the last 2 months and only 1 quote received. What I just don't understand is if they don't want the work, then why come round and have a look?
  23. Silly question...but is the timer on? My oven won't come on if the timer is set (which is easy to do if you knock it)
  24. there's loads in Sydenaham but apart from meat, what else else is "Muslim food"?
  25. I like La Rosiere, it's higher (1850) so the snow doesn't melt in the afternoon as much, it's got plenty of easy runs, you can ski to Italy, usual ski school, and if you go with someone like SkiBeat then they can sort out childcare (both babysitting in the evening and some chalets have a creche).
