We have some Muslim friends coming to stay. Does anyone know any Muslim food shops and halal butchers in the area?

there's loads in Sydenaham but apart from meat, what else else is "Muslim food"?

Haha yeah, not really sure what "Muslim Food" is... do you simply mean Halal meat, or Middle Eastern style food, perhaps? But you could try...

Dulwich Halal shop on North Cross Rd

Any number of Halal Butchers on Rye Lane

Persepolis shop on Peckham High St for Persian/Middle Eastern sweets, ingredients, condiments, etc.

I could recommend TFC in Camberwell, has parking and a large rangę of food to choose from.

Tescos in Surrey Quays has a Halal butchers separate from the conventional butchers.

ASDA Old Kent Road does Halal meat (pre packed.)

Many thanks all for your responses. And yes, sorry my friends had just referred to 'Muslim food' so I did the same! I too thought it was just halal... anyway, thank you all!

the butchers on corner of Choumert Road and Rye Lane is halal, I get my goat there innit.

Khans in Rye Lane have a good selection of spices and other dried/frozen food stuffs. Also Muslims are able to eat fish.

The big Sainsbury's does halal meat and chicken (small section in the chilled meats aisle).

Don't add any wine etc to the food and pretty much all else is fine!

Persepolis in Peckham http://foratasteofpersia.co.uk has loads of Middle Eastern produce - not necessarily Muslim - but i am sure you can find plenty in there that will appeal to your guests
