Gay lib outside the charity shop (contains rudeness)

Recommended Posts

1.30am down the fresh meat aisle in Sainsbury's. Woopsies central. Not seen them out and about on Lordship Lane for some time.

I bet they're a bit disappointed to be spotted near somewhere so lacking in glamour.

In all seriousness I know loads. And they're all local. Most I know wouldn't hold hands. Too busy driving round in the Saab, the Porsche or the BMW.

I grew up in Brighton. I am shocked that people are even posting on her about two gay men holding hands! Jesus! Breaking news. Not. Who cares.

I don't think people are doing it for shock value MW - it's more a "good to see, another reason I like living here and not Ilford" kind of thing

When I first arrived in the UK and being Irish wasn't quite as acceptable as it is now, I would have posted on a forum (if such things as the internet, widespread PC availability and a fast modem existed) if I actually met another Irish person in Swindon

Being a big softie my heart always leaps a little whenever I see anyone holding hands. If I see two guys or two girls doing it then I think that my life is getting better - its good to know that this area is considered liberal enough.

    • I would like to understand this promise by the Greens in greater detail and how it applies locally? Presumably road/pavement upkeep and renewal is as important for cyclists and pedestrians as motorists? I am not aware of plans to build new roads locally but there has been plenty of money spent on converting roads into pedestrian only areas. On the face of it this feels a slightly empty statement, when applied at local level. I'd love to know the Greens stance in hiring out parks for private use (given impact on park environment), I'd also like to understand their stance on fireworks- I will look to see if I can find anything. I don't know if a manifesto exists under the documents section of Southwark Greens, but you can only access that bit by signing in- which is disappointing. If anyone has a manifesto that reflects local priorities- could they post a link?
