hmmm.. I know when my brother came to stay a couple of years back he used to while away his days in there. But then, he had a problem

I think some of the premises must have had generous lease deals which allows them to subsist for a while longer while businesses which put a lot of effort in (such as G&B expanding) get treated pretty harshly by landlords

Technically, an establishment needs 'customers' to have any chance of a fight breaking-out.

    • Be careful out there  !   I got a ticket for 1 minute over  on Lordship Lane   ---- with a blue badge , on a single yellow ...    I returned at 4.03pm to find the ticket -- he waited till 4.01pm with ticket and then scarpered  Naturally i appealed it and this was the response   We refer to the informal challenge you have made against the issue of the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) JK17113680 You were parked on a single yellow line with one yellow kerb marking. There is a sign at the location advising that no loading is permitted Monday-Friday, 7 am to 10 am, and then 4 pm to 7 pm. Loading is permitted for a maximum of 40 minutes between 10 am and 4 pm, and then again after 7 pm. You were observed parked at 4:01 pm. and therefore issued a PCN for parking at a time when the rule applies. The purpose of this rule is to improve traffic flow and safety at all times. This contravention is immediately enforceable, and therefore, a PCN can be issued straight away as no observation period is needed. This rule applies to disabled badge holders, too; it is not a situation where you may use your disabled badge. Although your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) was correctly given, we have cancelled it on this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that this cancellation does not set a precedent for other PCNs issued in the future under similar circumstances, as each case is dealt with on its own merits. Yours sincerely Anita Hayler Southwark Parking
