James I suppose it depends on what's your definition of something to see? If you see my post earlier I thought there were a few things but each to their own.

Citizen ED - I know that centre - it is in fact just over the border into West Norwood but like I said before you would never know! What was the group like and for which age as I've often though of taking my little one along one day.

what's wrong with joggers DM?......oh sorry! Re read your thread. Doggers. Ah, I see. A little mix up on my part.

Downsouth, group I went to, on Thursdays 9.30 - 12 noon, caters for 2.5 yr-olds to 5 yr-olds and "offers structured play for you and your child with crafts, contruction toys and a sit down story time.." according to their pamphlet. It was OK. My little one enjoyed himself interacting with the other little ones. Well worth the ?3.

Oh yes, Chatsworth Way! A very nice chap I know was almost beaten to death there recently by a drug crazed youth with a base ball bat... Never Ever go there after the sun goes down CitizenEd. I couldn't care less about the quality of the housing stock. East Dulwich it is not.

There is another good similar play group at the Salvation Army hall just up the road on the high street for 2.5 to 5 year olds. Best only go there in day light though.

Thanks, will have to pop in one day.

DM - last year my best friend's dad was robbed at knife point at the petrol station on East Dulwich Road. These things happen I'm afraid. Sad but true.

    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
