Anyone out there wondering if you should give this a go, but are a bit unsure??? Absolutely DO IT! I had my first session last Saturday and I was completely grinning from ear to ear whilst attempting to get rid of that 'mother of two', tea & biscuits shape I've adopted. It is completely FREE.... which in this day and age is baffling in itself frankly, not to mention a really friendly group lead by McCabe who is super friendly, engaging and just keeps it all running smooth. I'm still on a high about it and its nearly Wednesday. Enough said - fill out the form!

I've been going to this for about a month now and massively recommend it. Im a complete chicken going to group things alone however the group are really welcoming and great fun! I soon learnt that its not a heavy fitness session like the military groups and you can take it at the pace you want to, plus not feel guilty if you want to have a sausage sandwich in the cafe afterwards :)

Completely free so if you want to get fit as well as potentially make some new friends then definitely go along - they meet at the cafe at 10am on the Rye

G'day Dulwichgal,

The numbers will start to rise again now the children head back to school, we range from a group of 16 upto 30-ish.

Have a look at the comments above from some new ones - I think that they really like it :-).

On wet days, bring a jacket as the Oxford Dictionary proverb states ...'there's no such thing as bad weather, only wrong clothes'. I'm typically in a purple top, and on wet days in a bright orange waterproof cycle top.

Any viewers of this thread with ankle, knee, hip or general low body extremity challenges, you can do the circuit on a bike and dismount every 300m for the group toning. If you are in a wheelchair or with visual impairment, PM me and I will ensure that I can design the circuit for you.

Best!

Simbo - How are your Adductors......inner thighs?

Your husband should be so cross with me - you are so athletically mobile - I couldn't slow you down.

You are an inspiration to MS.

Thank you for helping me to run the group - the guys (99%)women educate me.

McCabe

I felt everything, not just the inner thighs! But that's why I love the group.

He's not cross with you, just me as always! He knows I go for it when I'm able!

Ended up too exhausted for last week & at the coast this weekend but hopefully back to nagging next week 😉

Have a good session tomorrow & don't get cold, keep moving!

Simbo....Good job!

I've had a request to focus more on 'legs, bums & tums', ...'arms, shoulders, core, upper back, lower back, hip flexors etc'. I think this covers the entire body set so will be a tonic for you - and you won't get cold :-)

McCabe

Ah Ha!

This is an earlier Rah Rah on a Thursday rather than a Friday as I may be out tomorrow afternoon.

** For the newones on the list **

Its totally FREE, bring some change for a tea / coffee, and a 1Ltr bottle of water for arm, shoulder and back toning.

c.500 ~ 600 calories burnt, stretching, toning and a bag of fun at the same time for FREE!

7-years ago, I embarked on a fund-less mission, and still to this day, to work with the 'tall, short, fat, thin, with cancer, in remission, Fibromyalgia, MS, Sickle cell and a whole bunch of others like me, the former Triathletes that need a home to return to when the joints have given too much love.

This Saturday, a 1Ltr bottle of water, passion, change for a tea / coffee at the end.

Meet for 10am, at the caf? on the Rye, and will head off at 10-10am. Legs, shoulders, ankles, knees, and a tonne of other muscle sets too will be grooved into.

Every section is optional, bad back, legs etc..... there is zero pressure other than atmosphere.

McCabe ...... see you then xx

Such an entertaining morning - how can a bunch of adults be so cheeky and funny when exercising?

I use to train an SAS guy, I would drill him into the ground, yet he wanted more!

We are comparing (well actually fitness Julia) a dog show tomorrow on Lynhurst / Bellenden Road in Warick Gardens between 2~ 5pm.

Convened by The Hague Group and co-chaired by the governments of Colombia and South Africa, the Emergency Conference on Palestine brought together 30 states for two days of intensive deliberation — and emerged with a concrete, coordinated six-point plan to restrain Israel’s war machine and uphold international law. States took up the call from their host, Colombian President and Progressive International Council Member Gustavo Petro, who had urged them to be “protagonists together.” Twelve governments signed onto the measures immediately. The rest now have a deadline: 20 September 2025, on the eve of the United Nations General Assembly. The unprecedented six measures commit states to:     Prevent military and dual use exports to Israel.     Refuse Israeli weapons transfers at their ports.     Prevent vessels carrying weapons to Israel under their national flags.     Review all public contracts to prevent public institutions and funds from supporting Israel’s illegal occupation.     Pursue justice for international crimes.     Support universal jurisdiction to hold perpetrators accountable. “We came to Bogotá to make history — and we did,” said Colombian President Gustavo Petro. “Together, we have begun the work of ending the era of impunity. These measures show that we will no longer allow international law to be treated as optional, or Palestinian life as disposable.” The measures are not symbolic. They are grounded in binding obligations under international law — including the International Court of Justice’s July 2024 advisory opinion declaring Israel’s occupation unlawful, and September 2024’s UN General Assembly Resolution ES-10/24, which gave states a 12-month deadline to act. UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory Francesca Albanese called them “a momentous step forward.” “The Hague Group was born to advance international law in an era of impunity,” said South Africa’s Foreign Minister, Ronald Lamola. “The measures adopted in Bogotá show that we are serious — and that coordinated state action is possible.” The response from Washington was swift — and revealing. In a threatening statement to journalists, a US State Department spokesperson accused The Hague Group of “seeking to isolate Israel” and warned that the US would “aggressively defend our interests, our military, and our allies, including Israel, from such coordinated legal and diplomatic” actions. But instead of deterring action, the threats have only clarified the stakes. In Bogotá, states did not flinch. They acted — and they invite the world to join them. The deadline for further states to take up the measures is now two months away. And with it, the pressure is mounting for governments across the world — from Brazil to Ireland, Chile to Spain — to match words with action. As Albanese said, “the clock is now ticking for states — from Europe to the Arab world and beyond — to join them.” This is not a moment to observe. It is a moment to act. Share the Joint Statement from Bogotá and popularise the six measures. Write to your elected representative and your government and demand they sign on before 20 September. History was made in Bogotá. Now, it’s up to all of us to ensure it becomes reality, that Palestinian life is not disposable and international law is not optional. The era of impunity is coming to an end. Palestine is not alone. In solidarity, The Progressive International Secretariat
    • Most countries charge for entry to museums and galleries, often a different rate for locals (tax payers) and foreign nationals. The National Gallery could do this, also places like the Museums in South Kensington, the British Library and other tax-funded institutions. Many cities abroad add a tourist tax to hotel bills. It means tourists help pay for public services.
    • Having just been to Co-op to redeem a 50p off Co-op members' card voucher on an item that is now 50p more than it was last week, Tesco can't come soon enough
    • Surely that depends on the amount.  It can be quite piffling.
