I would recommend The Gardens, the doctors there are great and they have some late evenings, the reception staff are variable but these days I seem to find all doctors and dentists seem to employ people least suited to customer facing roles.

pablogrande how right you are. surly, sullen, moody, intransigent hardly covers it.

We have been at the Gardens for years. They don't seem to be modern or up to date and all the reception staff need sacking and start again.

the DMC are shocking, how do they get away with it?

good luck anyone trying to get satisfactory medical attention.

have been with The Gardens for years - never had any problem with reception staff, nurses or GPs. I do not go to them for trivial illnesses - i.e. colds, coughs etc. I am diabetic and have regular checks with practice nurse.

Hubby has a severe medical condition - and GPs have been really good with him. If I think he is unwell and is not willing to go to GP - I make contact with his named GP and she rings him up (or gets the receptionist to do so) with an urgent appointment

    • My daughter lost an earring possibly under the bridge at Herne Hill while cycling on Saturday evening towards Loughborough Junction. It has great sentimental value. If anyone has found it please get in contact. Thank you Don
    • The problem is not generally with the stores or drivers - who generally are doing the best they can and receive peanuts for each package. (Rumored that Evri will pay only 20-30p to a shop that receives/sends a parcel). The problem is the business model of these courier companies that do not invest in infrastructure or depots, but just outsource everything and set "contractor" drivers impossible targets. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/dec/08/christmas-parcel-delivery-drivers-driven-to-the-edge
    • I don’t think that this is a Barry’s-specific issue in the area. I’m constantly having parcels refused for delivery at the InPost lockers outside the Family Store on Upland as well as at the Esso garage by the Rye
    • I was several miles away and I didn't miss it, as apparently didn't lots of others also several miles away. But as I and others reported although we guessed it was fireworks it sounded more like the WWI front line, albeit from a distance!
