Is that where you broke the back window of my car?

Smokerie, he long gone

Hold on....

Let's keep in mind the difference here is "real" smoke...

Oh yes , there's always some artisan products out there

" Yes, this special cheese is smoked with the wood from the hull of the Mary Rose" type of thing

But what I'm talking about is an industrialy extruded "Bavarian style" ( hah ) billet of fat, which is then flavoured with liquid smoke ( from a lab ) on an industrial estate off the M6. It shares a bed with a cornucopia of E numbers & chemically loaded shite. Moster munch, Pot Noodles & Sunny Delight

Not one of these products have ever seen the inside of a tar lined smokehouse in Kent, a wok or an orchard or where ever, so these my freinds are the Black & White minstrels of the epicurean world

W**F

I thought from the title that this was going to be about the wonderfully naughty, cheeky, mischievous (I'm a fan), Zippy, from the 1970s children's tv programme. Although I don't recall a character called bullsh*t, I seem to remember jeffrey and bungle were full of it.

Guessing Axe may be too young to remember the programme?

And I bet they didn't have smoked garlic, smoked this and artisan that back then ...

    • I had this same query the other week - Mediquip no longer cover Southwark and I believe the company when bankrupt? Anyway, after some digging, I found the news on the adult social care page of Southwark Council website.  The new supplier of medical equipment that is issued to Southwark residents via an OT from the council or the NHS is Provide Equipment Hub.  I emailed them about returning two items and they did promptly respond and came and picked up the items the following week.  Email them at [email protected] Importantly, they will come and do urgent repairs of equipment like hospital beds.  I'm surprised that Southwark haven't made this change more widely known as it will impact many vulnerable residents.

    • Hello East Dulwich families 👋 I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m a professional family & wedding photographer with 14+ years of experience, and I split my time between the US and London throughout the year. I’ll be based in London for the coming weeks and would love to photograph more local families here in East Dulwich. My approach is very relaxed and natural — no stiff posing, no pressure — just real connection, movement, and the beautiful everyday moments that tell your family’s story. I work especially well with kids and parents who feel “awkward” in front of the camera (which honestly is most of us!). Sessions can take place at home, in the park, on your favourite street, or anywhere that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to create images that feel like your life — not a photoshoot. If anyone has been thinking about documenting this season with their children, I’d love to connect, answer questions, or simply share examples of my work. No pressure at all — just happy to be here and meet some neighbours. You can see my work here: https://bluesparkphotography.com/family/ (use the contact page on the site to send me a message if you're interested!).
