Area: Dulwich Wood Park / Paxton Green

Time/Date: c. 10-10am Tue 3rd Jan

Age/Gender: 20-ish/male

While this is marginally out of the ED area, this individual will be transient.

He approached a woman who had pulled up and parked on a side road. He ran up to the drivers window screaming for her to get out brandisihg a chisle like weapon. Unsuccessful, he walked to the nearest bus stop and took a bus.

** Police **

From 999 to the team turning up, 'MD' Soutwark Police, excellent and clear communication with support. Great guys!

Specific details have not been included for good reason.

Yeah you've got a point, I mean why even include age or gender in the description

Just 'screaming chisel wielding person' would have sufficed

Yes I suppose a description of the person is way too much of a giveaway. It takes the intrigue out of it if you know what you're looking for

I can see it now on crime watch "Did you see a Male with a chisel and an Oyster card"

Seriously, this is lame. What did the man with the chisel actually look like?

Simple question, or was he in disguise?

This is about the 'what happened'.

Discriptions are in the hands of the police. Male and 20-ish are purely indicators. Remember 'chisel-like'. its neither a 'chisel' nor a 'like'.

Nay over estimate nor query, just get the event.

You have all been remarkably astute!

It's also about people being aware. For their safety, which I consider fairly important.

If not for a good bit of gossip, the purpose of this thread is to make people aware, alert and vigilant, so that they can stay safe, and perhaps report possible suspects (Although obviously that is less relevant now.)

The point is, providing a better description would help keep people safer and make the guy more likely to meet justice.

Perhaps I'm wrong, and there is legitimate "good reason" not to describe them, in which case that's acceptable.

    • I’ve been happily with them for donkeys years but my recent experience has been a bit shocking. Clinical staff have been great (if you can get an appointment) but apparently the Practice has a ‘new system’ in place. You can’t phone for an appointment, you have to go ‘on the app’ and request one. GP will review the request at some unspecified point and decide whether to offer you an appointment . My experience of using the app hasn’t been good and I’m a bit horrified that folk can no longer arrange appointments by phone or by walking in. I’ve also had them lose referral forms, and had to chase them multiple times over a simple GP letter. This has never been my experience in the past so it’s alarming. Anyway, I’ve asked to be included in the Patient Participation Panel, so I’m interested in the experience of others, good & bad? Feel free to PM me, if you prefer!
    • I miss milkmen. It was the sign of a good night out if you met one on the way home. But could quality produce, in 100% recyclable packaging and home-delivered by zero emission electric vehicles really catch on these days? They should bring back the Corona pop man, as well.
