Goodliz
Hello, has anyone been to this new restaurant? Is it any good? Wedding anniversary coming up and as usual it is me who has to plan where to go! As we have to pay for a babysitter and their cab home we can't really push the boat out too much price wise.I would be really grateful if anyone could let me know what this place is like as I love Italian food and we spent part of our honeymoon in Italy. Many thanks. EDDW
We've used it for family get togethers and as a couple. Recommneded for good food, good value for money but it, might, lack a bit of romantic "oomph" essential for wedding anniversary dinner. Lighting is a bit bright - whereas I always look for subdued lighting and candles when dining romantically (husband looks better in dim lighting!!) - it's all a bit bright. Apart fcrom this tho' I'd recommend Si MAngia highly. ruffers
We went the other night and enjoyed it, it is what it is. Food is fine, atmosphere is good, we enjoyed it and will go back. In other words don't expect the very finest in cuisine but decent value at seven or eight quid for a main. Not somewhere I'd particularly recommend for a romantic dinner as EDDW suggest but not disastrous by any stretch of the imagination. boosboss
Went last night and have to echo some of the other opinions. Good food, good service, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back. :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1390-si-mangia-itialian-restaurant-on-forest-hill-road/#findComment-39176 Share on other sites
kittenheels
We tried Si Mangia on Friday night after heading down the road bound for a juicy Herne-burger, only to find the pub closed for a private function. Despite its lacklustre location, the restaurant was fantastic, and the Italian sausage with borlotti beans and spaghetti was to die for. Hope this sparks the start of a Forest Hill Road makeover. What a novelty to walk out of the front door and turn right for dinner, instead of heading straight for Lordship Lane.
