Mick Mac
I was in the Windmill pub in Mayfair tonight and had a pie that was like I had never had before. Good Pies are to be treasured. Unfortunately cheap pies have given the wrong impression of what, at its best is an English gastronomic delight. Mick Mac
Just bored - not quite ready for bed. 4.5 pints and a pie tonight. Not too bad for a night out in town. But yes November looms large. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13908-who-ate-all-the-pies/#findComment-374395 Share on other sites
cate
Bought quite a nice steak and red wine pie from the Cook Shop on Park Hall Road the other day. The pastry was great and I am extremely fussy about pastry. There could have been a bit more filling though. It has beef, onion and one discernible carrot. Served it on top of mash which was drowned in the tasty gravy. mockney piers
The Newman Arms on Rathbone st off Charlotte St does mightily good (and very reasonably priced) pies upstairs and is a cute gem of a pub downstairs, though can get crowded, it being about 4'x 6' in size. jollybaby
The pies from franklin's farm shop aren't bad. Satisfied my end of pregnancy cravings but then again so did anything remotely unhealthy . . .
