Any gems you come across why not post them here? I quite liked this one.

Re: Wanted: Female cat for breeding

The truly sad side of cat ownership is that they are pet-lite.No walking, no bagging up shit, comparatively they are no hassle - and thats the problem. In an urban environment where people work long and erratic hours, are forced to rent / buy criminally overpriced & undersized accomodation, are often single and quite often lonely - this is the real issue. Cats fill a niche sadly. We assign them personailties, post pix up on the net and attribute human qualities to them in an effort to ward off the demons of our shite encrusted cul de sac lives of economic slavery and market driven gadget aquisition.

The increased level of cat ownership in ED is just an indicator of how compartmentalsised, emasculated and manipulated we have become.

Brilliant solution to ED not having a tube station!

Extend the Waterloo and City line to ED.

Station can be on Goose Green and it can be called the Waterloo, City and ED line.

Instead of tunnelling new holes they could close another line (say the Metropolitan) and move the holes to ED

I hope you're joking!

"Keep right" from a sat nav, means at the junction up ahead, not your position on the carriageway!

This thread would appear to be more about fun than football!

To cheer you up - this both mortified me and made me laugh this morning...

So I am somewhat hormonal and feeling a little sketchy...

listening to my ipod coming up from the tube trying to swipe out of the barriers at CW, oyster not working, swipe again and again.... queue building up and tutting behind me. Obviously I am frustrated at my 5th attempt - its not even beeping. This is actually because I am trying to exit the tube with an individually wrapped sanitary towel which I had shoved in my pocket this morning, EPIC FAIL

Morning all!

    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
    • This is very true. For some people, not even just the elderly, their pet/s may be their most important companion.
