BQC
We'd love to get out of town over NY - has anybody done a house-swap in the past, or have family from out of town who'd be interested? Huguenot
How does house swapping work? How do you protect your valuables? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13991-house-swap/#findComment-376152 Share on other sites
*Bob*
It's like a hostage-swapping situation. You've got theirs and they've got yours. Just make sure the hostages are equitable. annaj
But you wouldn't know until you got back if they'd cut your hostages ear off... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13991-house-swap/#findComment-376170 Share on other sites
Ted Max
I think what's usual practice is to hook up hidden IP CCTV cameras and then log-in in to view the feed from your holiday house. That way you can monitor your visitors at all times to make sure they are not masturbating into the cutlery drawer. Ted Max
The other thing that happens is that both families are mistaken, in a series of misunderstandings, as the real occupants of the houses they have swapped. So much so that they assume each others' lives, to much comic effect. Both families love their new lives so much that in an unlikely series of events, they agree not to swap back. This happy state of affairs is only broken by an unforseen tragedy in the third act (father of one family sleeps with cleaner/ child of other family dies whilst impersonating child of other family in football game etc) and everyone comes to their senses and agrees to go back to their old lives - but just that little bit changed (for the better, having learnt some valuable lessons). You can see this on Channel 5 weekdays, about 1:30pm I think. If you want the w*anking into the silverware scene, though, you need to get the director's cut version on DVD. Narnia
How about South Norwood or South of France, Lancashire or the West of Ireland? Alternatively there's a little village in Spain where my brother/sister in law have a place.
