peckhamboy
Thank you felt-tip. I have written them the following letter:"Dear SirsIt has come to my attention from reading the east dulwich forum that one of your bus drivers (and i am certain that the problem must be more widespread than this but have no evidence, although it is certainly a fact) is in the habit of collecting members of the public out of hours and providing a free taxi service at the public expense. This seems to me to be immoral, fraudulent and dangerous and i believe the drivers should be punished or probably fired. It also appears that some drivers may require non-monetary payment for this "service". Is this permitted? If so, I should like to apply for a job.Kind regardspeckhamboycc Tessa Jowl MP"I strongly urge all readers to do the same. felt-tip
The most distressing thing about this whole thread is that people in Brixton can get to Dulwich in 9 minutes.Be careful out there people. peckhamboy
And how long does it take to get to Brixton from Clapham. Seriously, I think there are wider ramifications here that need to be considered. DJKillaQueen
I can cycle from Brixton to Dulwich in less than nine minutes so don't understand what the deal is. In fact the timetable says it should take 14 mins from Brixton Town Hall to Goose Green and that's allowing for all the bus stops en route, so 9 mins seems about right without any need to speed. DJKillaQueen
It's just occurred to me as well that it could have been a 'ghost bus' like the one in Harry Potter - I'm sure the bus compnay would want to know of anyone illegally taking their trade like that.....;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14013-brixton-to-east-dulwich-in-9mins-on-the-bus/page/2/#findComment-376659 Share on other sites
felt-tip
This whole sorry episode just stinks of the kind of social decay we've been seeing in East Dulwich recently. peckhamboy
I agree. Drunkenness, fare-dodging, speeding, immoral activity, and *Bob*'s sore bum. This sort of thing is all too common and ED is all the worse for it. computedshorty
Having to travel on those old buses with wooden seats that are on the night service is a disgrace, if you got splinters in your bum you should go to the doctors, get him to make a 60 minute makeover in your sitting room. The Minkey
I just got in from a random afternoon spent with a group of off-duty bus drivers, listening to an ex-inspector's tales of fleas and cockroaches on certain Arriva routes - eeew!!
